Sunday, October 16, 2022 – In today’s message, we are finishing up Revelation 20 as we discuss the “Great White Throne Judgment.” I can’t stress enough the importance of studying prophecy, not from a “fortune teller” perspective but rather from a perspective of “what can I do today to prepare me” for what God has in store. For those judged in this "White Throne Judgment," the final judgment of the wicked, there will be great regret that they didn’t choose to accept Christ and live for Him while they had the chance. We can't even begin to comprehend the utter hopelessness felt at that time. Sunday, September 25, 2022 - This is the 3rd part of our study on Revelation 20. Our text today is Revelation 20:7-10. It may be taking a while to work through this chapter, but there's a lot to cover. God's Word is amazing in the detail it provides; you just may have to work to find it. The OT prophets are given a very good picture of the Millenium period, so it seems God wants us to know about it as well. Here's the most important thing to know, we don't need to understand everything about the prophetic future other than to know that it will come to pass exactly as God would have it. He's proven Himself in fulfilling hundreds of other prophecies; we can trust Him completely to fulfill all that remain. I'm excited to study and learn as much as possible about what God has in store for us. Sunday, September 18, 2022 - We are doing something different today. On Saturday, we hosted a live stream event called "Tipping Point Prophecy Conference" from Dallas, TX. It was a great conference, and only a few showed up to watch. I discovered on Sunday morning that they had already posted the speakers on my email. So I made a change in my plans for Sunday service. Rather than preach the message I had prepared that continues in the study of Revelation 20, we watched the opening message of the conference given by Jimmy Evans. He titled his message "Countdown to Rosh Hashanah." It is an excellent message, so I pray you take the time to watch it. We finished Chapter 19, which is known as one of the most “exciting” chapters, namely the “Hallelujah Chorus” of the NT, and now we are looking at Chapter 20, which is known as one of the “greatest” chapters of the bible. This chapter is also known as one of the most debated chapters as there are three major perspectives on what this 1000-year period is. There is the “amillennial”, “postmillennial,” and “premillennial” viewpoint. We present a brief discussion of all three. We focus today on verses 1-3 after we set the context of what it means to believe in a “premillennial” viewpoint as that’s the belief we hold to. Sunday, August 21, 2022 – Pastor Ryp Hankins brings a message titled “Are you a Disciple or a Follower of Christ?” He does a great job defining the difference between being a “Follower of Jesus” or a “Disciple of Jesus.” We are called to be disciples and make disciples – but do we really understand what that means? Disciples of Jesus learn to obey His teachings and have a deep foundation that isn’t easily shaken when the storms of life come their way. In contrast, followers of Jesus are easily thrown off course when the teachings of Jesus are hard and/or when life throws a curve ball when one isn’t expected. Sunday, August 14, 2022 – Today, we are finishing up our conversation on one of the most exciting chapters of the Bible, Revelation 19. If you have followed this teaching, you will understand why we say that. Our study today is titled “The 2nd Coming” because in this passage, John the Revelator is given the vision of what it will be like when Jesus Christ returns riding a white horse with heaven's armies following, dressed in fine linens, white and clean. The first time Jesus came in a lowly and humble way as a babe in the manger; this time, Jesus comes with a very specific purpose to bring righteous judgment against all evil and to establish His earthly 1000-year kingdom. Sunday, August 7, 2022 – Today, we are continuing in our discussion of Revelation 19 – one of the most exciting chapters in the bible! God is such a good planner that in everything He does, He gives us human analogies to help us better understand. Revelation 19 presents the Church as the Bride and Jesus the Groom in the context of the Jewish Galilean tradition. In this, we can better identify as a Bride, betrothed, and preparing herself for the wedding day that is to come. We can also understand the planning of the Wedding Feast and the invitations that are sent out. Who sends the invitations and who’s on the list is very important. Sunday, July 31, 2022 – Today, we are studying Revelation 19, which is the climax of the book of Revelation in that Heaven is now celebrating the ultimate victory over sin and the evil system of this world. The worship word – Hallelujah – is used only 4 times in the New Testament, all in the first 6 verses of Revelation 19. This is known as the “The Hallelujah Chorus of the NT” and as we study, you will see why with good reason it is. Many associate Revelation as only a book of the apocalypse and one of God’s Wrath. Of course, God’s wrath on sin is justified; even so, the book of Revelation reveals so much more as we discover today. Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it because the time is near. Today’s message is talking about the “Purpose of the Tribulation”. We must understand the nature of God is justice always with the intention of redemption. God’s purpose for mankind is to restore a relationship with the fallen nature of men, as provided through the salvation of Jesus' sacrificial death and resurrection. The 7-year tribulation period between the Rapture (the taking away of the Church) and the 2nd Coming of Christ has multiple purposes. We are living in very unsettling times and there is much confusion and deception in the world at large, and can I also say, in the church? What is causing this? I believe it’s very important that we have a hunger and desire for the return of Jesus and not a fear of it. We often avoid topics that are difficult to deal with and possibly understand. For that reason, I feel it’s important to talk about the Rapture and the 2nd Coming and understand what they are and what their purposes are. They are two separate and distinct events that make up the overall “Big Picture” of the return of Jesus. Jesus tells us in scripture that He was going away to prepare a home for us in Heaven and that He was going to come again and take us to be with Him where He is. Sunday, June 6, 2022 – Today we are discussing one of those hard topics that Jesus teaches – He says that we are to “Take up your cross and follow me”. I’ll be honest with you, I struggled this week in the preparation of this message, yet I believe that the Holy Spirit brought clarity to my thinking. The concept of “taking up my cross” is a very personal command from Jesus, yet it’s really not about me at all, it’s all about Jesus and the redemption that He provides on the cross that He took up. In the day Jesus was speaking, the cross was not what we consider it to be today. We consider the cross a religious emblem, but in Jesus' time, it was an emblem of death for those that deserved to be punished. The cross that Jesus willingly hung on and died on was not about punishment, but totally and wholly about redemption. Sunday, May 29, 2022 - The title of today’s message is “Get Behind Me, Satan”. This is one of those potentially confusing things Jesus says that we need to understand because most of the time it’s the difficult things that Jesus says that have the most meaning in our life. After we read the context of this passage it becomes clear why Jesus takes this direct approach to deal with temptation. Get behind me, Satan! This is what we can take away from this. Jesus, being fully human had to deal with temptation just as we do. We find that Peter was unknowingly speaking the same words that Satan had previously spoken to Jesus in that the temptation was given to take a “short-cut”, the "easy way" out of the plans that God has for Jesus’s life, and likewise in our lives. How many times have we prayed for God to “Bless our plans, rather than pray for God’s plans?” There’s a lot we can learn from this simple yet powerful command,

Well, if Jesus taught it, it makes sense that we should listen to what He teaches, right? Here’s the point, Jesus never speaks anything to discourage people or to push them away, rather He speaks to encourage and prepare people for what’s ahead. Sunday, May 15, 2022 – The message today is about the “Parable of the Wedding Banquet”. This is one a few parables that Jesus spoke specifically to the Jewish people and leaders of his day calling them into a relationship with Him as the promised Messiah. It’s unfortunate that they repeatedly refused His invitation and thankfully Jesus extended that invitation to the gentiles. For this reason, this parable and others speak directly to us today. There are some really important elements that we discuss. One is the willful refusal is one of personal choice. It’s not that the invited couldn’t accept the invitation, it’s simply that they wouldn’t. Another is the importance of accepting and wearing the “wedding garments” that the king provides. Mother's Day, May 8, 2022 - Today we have a special speaker - Kathy Hart gives a wonderful message on the Legacy of a godly mother and grandmother. It's more than just being a good cook and homemaker, but as Kathy so wisely says, it's about leaving a legacy of a bible reading and praying mother. For many of us that have had the blessing of a godly mother, it's their sincere faith that has kept us through the troubles of life. They are the bible lived out and brought to life as they model what Jesus teaches. We are so thankful for all of the mothers of our assembly. Sunday, April 24, 2022 – The title of the message today is, “The Parable of the Talents – Accountability & Rewards”. This is an interesting parable for a couple of reasons. Jesus felt the lessons learned from this were important enough to say it twice and secondly, things that are said toward the end of one’s life are of utmost importance. So for these reasons, this message is important for us to hear and apply. One of the most important principles is the fact that “Accountability = Rewardability”. Society, in Jesus’ day and even more so today, is against the principle of being accountable. Why? Accountability is a threat to those that are knowingly not doing the things they know are right.
