Sunday, April 24, 2022 – The title of the message today is, “The Parable of the Talents – Accountability & Rewards”. This is an interesting parable for a couple of reasons. Jesus felt the lessons learned from this were important enough to say it twice and secondly, things that are said toward the end of one’s life are of utmost importance. So for these reasons, this message is important for us to hear and apply. One of the most important principles is the fact that “Accountability = Rewardability”. Society, in Jesus’ day and even more so today, is against the principle of being accountable. Why? Accountability is a threat to those that are knowingly not doing the things they know are right. It matters not, if they are on the job, in a marriage, being a good or bad citizen, or anywhere else in life – people that are not living right are afraid of being accountable because they know their true actions and motives will be revealed.
