    Teenager who sends letters and cards to the elderly from all over the world.  Jacob Cramer started Love For The Elderly in 2013 as a simple act of writing letters to Seniors in facilities he was volunteering for. He talks about how much he enjoys providing them with happiness and love in this interview with me. This has grown and now he collects letters and distributes them to nursing homes and assisted living facilities. He's received letters from all over the world, including Greece, Thailand, and Japan! He's also then turned them around and sent them to various people in assisted living facilities.     Providing a safe home for orphaned children in Zambia Africa.  After working as a volunteer with children in Zambia in 2005, Malerie Pratt, from Bend, Oregon, realized that something desperately needed to be done to help the children in Zambia. In Zambia she met social worker, Violet Membe, who had always dreamed of starting a home for orphaned children. Malerie came back from that trip and experience wanting to make a difference in the lives of the children she had met there. She teamed up with Marlena Bellavia and they co-founded Vima Lupwa Homes. You'll hear in our interview how their home is unique in many ways and the impact they've made so far.     Repurposing flowers and giving them to those who adore receiving them! Joyce Bellefeuille is today's guest on the Generosity Philosophy Podcast. She is the founder of The Power of Flowers Project.     Michael Liimata, one of the co-founders of Connecting for Good is the guest of this week's episode of Generosity Philosophy. Connecting for Good is a nonprofit organization that has been bridging the Digital Divide since 2011 using wireless Internet, community technology centers, low cost refurbished PCs and free digital life skills classes. Michael mentioned was the Director of Education for the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. While he was with the association, they began to use the internet to help those running the shelters. He's now the academic Dean of a college called City Vision College.  Connecting For Good helps provide internet to folks by providing at a significant discount refurbished computers (including laptops) to people who cannot afford a full-priced computer.     Founded in 2011 Stovall's Sacrifice For Soldiers is a nonprofit developed in honor of 1st Lieutenant Matt Stovall who sacrificed his life when deployed to Iraq. His wife, Natalie Stovall Frady, is the guest on this week's episode of Generosity Philosophy. She explained she and her son would wonder how Matt would have wanted to be honored if he would have returned home from Iraq. The idea of Stovall's Sacrifice For Soldiers (S.S.S.) was created because all military men and women deserve to be honored for their bravery and the sacrifices they make for American civilians to live their daily lives and enjoy our freedom. They founded S.S.S. to carry on Matt's Legacy.     ResQwalk is a mobile app you can download for free in order to walk (with or without your pet) to support an animal rescue organization. The Founder of ResQWalk, Bailey Schroeder, is the guest on Generosity Philosophy Podcast this week and shared with us how the app works. Each week ResQwalk has a donation pool and as a walker your distance of walking is recorder and added to the rescue's weekly total. At the end of every week the donations are then paid out to the rescues proportionally to the total distance walked by people that week. ResQwalk helps several animal rescues and shelters all over the United States and Canada. The guest is the Founder and CEO of LoveAnimals.org, Sarah Timms. LoveAnimals.org is a non-profit crowdfunding website aimed at helping animal charities connect with donors to raise money for critically needed projects. On the LoveAnimals.org website, they make it fun and easy for you to donate to animals. Sarah shared her story of how LoveAnimals.org started back in the Spring of 2013 in this week's episode. They are doing what they can to get the donor's money directly to the animal nonprofit organizations, and do not retain any percentages or a fee to get funding. Another unique and great thing about LoveAnimals.org is they provide the funding to the organizations-even if they don't get 100% funded. This opened his eyes to seeing children who either didn't have shoes, or who's shoes were held together by duct tape. Gotta Have Sole Foundation, Inc.’s mission is to provide children living in shelters across the United States with brand-new footwear to call their own.     The Cancer Journal Project was started by the guest of this week's show, Kenan Irving. His wife, Ashley, passed away from stomach cancer in 2013. She wrote in a journal during the time she found out about having cancer up until she died. Kenan decided to share excerpts of his late wife, Ashley's journal with the hope her words will help others to cope and understand what can be accomplished in the face of tremendous adversity. The Cancer Journal Project is raising money to send children to Walt Disney World, as this is a travel destination Kenan and Ashley loved visiting together.     Breast Friends was co-founded by Becky Olson and Sharon Henifin. In this episode of Generosity Philosophy both women share how they help women survive the trauma of cancer. Becky and Sharon themselves are both cancer survivors. In 1993 Sharon was the first in their circle of friends to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Becky received her first diagnosis three years later in 1996. Both women realized that friends were unsure often times of how they can help provide them support. As a result, Becky and Sharon often found themselves feeling isolated and afraid, and didn't want to fight their cancer alone. So, they founded Breast Friends in 2001 as a resource and support for women and families facing a diagnosis of Breast Caner, Ovarian Cancer, or other Women's Cancers. Next year they will be celebrating their organization's 15th year Anniversary!

The founder, Jackie Hererra, has decided that no matter how difficult life might be (including herself being homeless) there are others who maybe have it worse off, and she wanted to help them! Jackie started Operation Healthy Hearts in early 2014.Operation Healthy Hearts involves bridging the gap between low income & homelessness for local families (in Los Angeles, California) and teaching the importance of practicing compassion towards others & personal wellness.You'll hear in our interview about how prior to Operation Healthy Hearts, she created a program called "Healthy Girls."
