Breast Friends was co-founded by Becky Olson and Sharon Henifin. In this episode of Generosity Philosophy both women share how they help women survive the trauma of cancer. Becky and Sharon themselves are both cancer survivors. In 1993 Sharon was the first in their circle of friends to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Becky received her first diagnosis three years later in 1996. Both women realized that friends were unsure often times of how they can help provide them support. As a result, Becky and Sharon often found themselves feeling isolated and afraid, and didn't want to fight their cancer alone. So, they founded Breast Friends in 2001 as a resource and support for women and families facing a diagnosis of Breast Caner, Ovarian Cancer, or other Women's Cancers. Next year they will be celebrating their organization's 15th year Anniversary!
