Sunday, Oct 31, 2021 - The message today is about the 2nd Identity statement Jesus makes to His followers following the Beatitudes. The 1st Identity Jesus gives us is "Salt" which we spoke about last week. The 2nd is "Light" of which we are speaking today. In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus says, "You are the Light of the World". Sounds simple enough, but as we dig into what He is really saying, we will see this is very profound. Light's main purpose is to uncover what's hidden in the darkness. Think about that for a minute, sometimes what's hidden in the darkness is potentially going to hurt us, and other times it's something that we're trying to hide and keep from being exposed. There's so much to talk about and such little time. Listen in and worship with us. It was also a surprise pastor appreciation presentation of which I kept a little in here. Sunday, October 24, 2021 - After finishing our study on the Beatitudes it was the next thing to continue on in Matthew 5 as Jesus is calling His followers the Salt of the Earth. Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot." There is a lot to talk about here. Salt was a very valuable commodity in Jesus' day and his comparison of the life of a true follower to being "salt" reflects the value Jesus sees in all believers, then and now. Sunday, October 17, 2021 – Today we are finishing our study on the Beatitudes. This has been a wonderful series on getting to know the heart and mind of Jesus as he shared on that grassy slope so many years ago. Our text is Matthew 5:10-12. The final promise is given to those that are persecuted because of righteousness for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Said another way, Blessed are those that are persecuted for “doing the right things”. Look around and it’s obvious that the world doesn’t love and appreciate those that are living righteously. One would like to think otherwise. However, it proves that the world is fallen and is in open rebellion against God. Persecution is the way the world fights back against those that are meek, merciful, peaceful, and so on. Jesus said it, if the world hates you, it's because they hated Him first. Sunday, Oct 10, 2021 – It’s a day to celebrate in the house of the Lord! Today we are continuing in our study on the Beatitudes focusing on PEACE. Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they will be Children of God. So much to talk about today about Peace. Something we all are seeking at all levels of life, yet only to be found through Jesus. The reality is, unless we first have that inner peace that comes only from a personal relationship with Jesus, we cannot have lasting peace anywhere else in our lives. Peace may appear at certain seasons of life, based upon our circumstances, but it will be fleeting at best. To be a “child of God”, that has the eternal promise of life ever after, then one needs a personal life-changing relationship with Jesus. You can have that… Listen in to find out how.

This will help us deal with the overwhelming fear pandemic and gives us the assurance that God’s presence is with us even in fearful times. There is good fear and bad fear. Sunday, September 19, 2021 - We're continuing in our study on the Beatitudes and once again, the simple words of Jesus contain truths beyond our ability to truly comprehend. We find today, that the heart of all mankind requires the miraculous regeneration from the deceitfully wicked heart to a pure and holy heart that only the blood of Jesus can attain. The deceitfulness of the wickedness of our hearts fools many into thinking they don't need to be forgiven. That's the power of deceit. But even if we do, there's nothing we can do about it on our own. That's why Jesus had to die for us so that we could place our trust in His redemption power. Once we do that, the miraculous happens. Our heart is changed into a pure heart that God blesses. And there's so much more, so please take the time to worship and study with us. It's great news and that offers us eternal life!

Sunday, September 12, 2021 - "Blessed are the merciful for they will receive mercy"! Have you thought much about this? What does it mean to be merciful? Is it easy to do? Well, to be honest, mercy is not one of my strong points. So I am learning along with many of you what this means. In some contexts, mercy and forgiveness are interchangeable. Both are Godly characteristics that Jesus modeled perfectly for us. We're going to understand that Satan, our enemy, hates mercy and he hates forgiveness, and that's one reason that our flesh nature struggles with these two godly attributes. We can overcome, however, because "Mercy triumphs over sin". Worship and study with us as we learn more of how we are to be merciful people...

Sunday, August 29, 2021 – We are continuing our study of the Beatitudes and Jesus is defining the lifestyle of those that are truly following Him by making this very profound statement. “Blessed are those that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be filled”. Notice, he says they will be “filled”. Not partially, but they will be filled. Filled with what? Filled with that which they are seeking. I find that to be very interesting. It’s a reaping and sowing concept, one reaps what one sows. If one is hungering and thirsting after righteousness, then one can expect to be filled with righteousness. However, if one is not hungering and thirsting for righteousness, but otherworldly things, then one cannot expect to be filled with righteousness. As you worship and study with us, ask yourself this very important question: “Is this defining my life”?

Sunday, August 22, 2021 – Before continuing our study on the Beatitudes, I would like to invite all to come and be a part of our Wed mid-week study as we are focusing on the End Times. We are featuring the Tipping Point study by Jimmy Evans of Gateway Church in Dallas, TX. I believe as many others do that we are living in the end of the end times, and we need to be very aware of what that means. That’s why we are spending our mid-week study on this crucial topic. Come study with us at 6:00 PM on Wed. We are talking about what it means to be MEEK today. Jesus says, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” What a profoundly simple yet powerful statement to make. What does it mean to be MEEK? And why is it so important that the meek, not the powerful as we may think of powerful, inherit the earth? There is so much in this study that will impact how we live our lives if we understand and apply. Study along with us…

Sunday, August 15, 2021 – As we begin today, I need to take a quick moment to wish my wife a happy 40th Wedding Anniversary. To be married to Chris for 40 years is a blessing above all blessings. So, it is not all intentional that we’re speaking about Mourning, just so you know…. We just happen to be on the second Beatitude where Jesus says, “Blessed are those that mourn, for they will be blessed”, it is simply a coincide and proof that God has a sense of humor. As we discuss this today, we’re going to find that God’s promises are for those that mourn in accordance with the things that God mourns over. Maybe, you didn’t think that God mourned over anything. Study along with us and understand that God does indeed mourn and as we choose to mourn as He does, He promises comfort.

Sunday, August 1, 2021 – Pastor Leland Hart is bringing the word today that he titles “The Perfect Word”. What a timely message that he gives in the world that we live in today is looking for the answer to the many questions that we all have. We struggle with saying the right things at the right times in life so many times. We want to be able to help hurting people by giving them an answer to their questions of why me? Why this? Why now? Why God? And sometimes, there is no easy answer that we can give them. But we know the answers to all of life’s questions are in “The Word of God”. Sunday, July 18, 2021 – We are continuing to introduce our series on the Beatitudes as given in Matthew 5. The message is titled, “The Direct Nature of Jesus” and in this, we try to understand the context of the day that Jesus gave His longest sermon beginning with the proclamations of Blessings as Jesus describes comes to those that are willing to accept the challenges of the Beatitudes. Jesus is describing what it’s going to look like to follow Him and be a faithful disciple. He begins with the command to “Repent”. So we describe what repentance looks like and then look at the expectations of what Jesus has for all of His faithful. Understand, there is nothing wrong with knowing that God has expectations of those that are obedient followers. Listen in and be encouraged and challenged at the same time…

Sunday, July 11, 2021 – Welcome to our Sunday Worship service. Today we are beginning a new study about Jesus’s teachings that we call the Beatitudes. Reading through this passage in Matthew 5, we see the word Blessed used numerous times. What is Jesus meaning by this? So, we are going to try to define what God’s Blessings really mean for us. We know from scripture that it is God’s heart and will to bless us, yet we find that He gives us a choice in if we will receive and walk under the Blessing that He gives. One of the biggest takeaways from today’s message is that God’s Blessings don’t always appear to be blessings to us in the moment, but in the end they always are. We can also misuse God’s Blessings and turn them into a Curse if we’re not keeping our eyes focused on Christ. A simple definition of God’s blessings is this: “It’s anything, good or bad, that turns our eyes on Jesus”. Let that settle into your

Sunday, July 4, 2021 - Independence Day! What a great country to live in, we're so fortunate that God has blessed us with this privilege. Now it's our responsibility to appreciate and defend it. Today, in our Sunday service we are finishing up our study on the book of Jude, by reviewing briefly some of the high points of this book and by receiving the greatest of all doxologies. Jude is very upfront with the truth of God's word on false teachers and prophets and yet finishes with the greatest promise of all, that we will be presented to God for all eternity without a single fault. The blood of Jesus forgives us of every wrong action and every fault so that we are faultless as we enter eternity based on our saving relationship with Jesus. I like this promise very much, and am determined to live accordingly. I pray you do as well. Sunday, June 20, 2021 – Father’s Day. We are blessed to have multiple pastors in our small congregation and today being Father’s Day we are blessed to have two of them join Pastor Mike and give us a special message today. God our Heavenly Father models fatherhood after His own character and relationship that He had with Jesus his Son. Today we are going to speak about the Grace and Mercy of God, the Provision of God, and the Discipline of God our Heavenly Father in all aspects of our lives. Sunday, June 13, 2021 – Jude – Persevering to the End is the title of today’s message. As we are getting into our final messages in our study of Jude we are encouraged to “build ourselves in the most Holy Faith” to persevere in our relationship with God thru the empowering grace of the Holy Spirit. Today we talk about four principles of how we do this. 1. Spend time in the Word of God, 2. Pray in the Spirit seeking God’s Will, 3. Keeping ourselves in the Love of God, and 4. Live with the expectation of the soon return of Jesus. As we do our part, the Holy Spirit helps us overcome all the false narratives of the end-time world we are living in. Sunday, June 6, 2021 – The title for today’s message could either be: “Learning from History” or “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish”. Either one fits as we continue our study on Jude. We are now getting into the meat of the Word of God as Jude begins to describe the way God feels about false teachers and prophets and the judgment that awaits them. But there are some positive things we can learn from the mistakes of the past. If we learn from them we will avoid the same negative and punishing consequences they experience. One of the biggest deceptions of the enemy comes thru the temptation to live by our “FEELINGS” and not by the truth of God’s Word that often challenges our feelings. We want to thank all of our servicemen and women that have served and for those that have given their ultimate sacrifice – their life so that we can enjoy freedom. We honor you today! The title of today’s message as we continue in our study of the Book of Jude is: “The Dangers of Subtracting From the Gospel”. Jude is aware of and is warning the church that ungodly people are secretly slipping their way into the church and doing great harm by twisting and distorting the Words of God into a message that says erroneously that once a person is saved and has a relationship with God, they can live any kind of life they chose, even if it’s immoral. This is in direct contrast to what the word really says. Sunday, May 16, 2021 – We are continuing our study of the book of Jude and the title of the message today is: “The Dangers of Adding to the Gospel”. Jude is setting up the rest of his letter by stating very clearly that God’s Word must be protected from the false messages of the enemies influence of false teachers and false prophets that we’re secretly slipping in among the believers. Think of it, if the enemy was trying to deceive people by twisting the freeing message of the gospel, then, how much more is he today? Mother's Day - May 9, 2021 - And we have a special speaker with us who is very familiar to all of us - Jackie Boog. Jackie happens to be our worship leader and she is wonderful as she knows just how to bring us all into that sweet spot of worship to our Savior and Lord Jesus... But there is more to Jackie. She is also a 2-time author and an excellent speaker. So, today we are asking Jackie to give us all a glimpse into "Jackie's World" as she introduces her 2nd book "Reflections from Jackie's World".
