Prior to this role, she served in the Governor’s administration, first as Governor Whitmer's education policy advisor and most recently served as a manager of the Office of Sixty by 30 within the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. In 2010, she founded the Michigan College Access Network and served as its Executive Director until 2019. Johnson also was a policy fellow and college access coordinator under Governor Jennifer Granholm. Johnson earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona State University and her master’s degree in public policy from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. Vic Verchereau welcomes John Daniels, who is the president and co-owner of Chelsea Lumber Company. The Chelsea Lumber Company has been a bedrock of this southeastern Michigan community for over a century. The company dates back to 1908 and has been owned in all or in part by the Daniels Family since the 1920's. Starting as the Chelsea Lumber, Grain & Coal Co. it was headquartered in a 3 story brick building at the corner of Main Street and the railroad tracks, which is now the site of Chelsea Milling Company, makers of the popular Jiffy Mix. President and Co-Owner, the late Bob Daniels, began working part time, shoveling coal, while a student at Chelsea High School in the 1940's. In those days, the company motto was "Where the Home Begins" and it remains the same to this day.
