  • Easy vs Ease

    23/06/2017 Duration: 46s

I write for those women who do not speak, for those who do not have a voice because they were so terrified, because we are taught to respect fear more than ourselves. We've been taught that silence would save us, but it won't. ~ Audrey Lorde Must you struggle to get what you want? Ease is one of my Core Desired Feelings and part of the goal-setting process I use to lead my decision making with desire and being instead of striving for material or physical outcomes. • Get Really Good at Doing First Things First

    22/06/2017 Duration: 06min

One thing I hear often from coaches who haven't been able to create a sustainable health coaching practice is that the business model they were given doesn't work.  Sure, a coaching business model may not be the right fit for your personality and business goals, but what I found most often, after asking a few key questions, is that it isn't that the business model doesn't work, it's that the health coach didn't put in the work. Many health coaches (myself included), try to do too many things and be in too many places at once and lack consistency and follow-through. In this episode, I talk about building one part of your health coaching practice at a time, and getting good at doing one thing before moving on to the next. Your health coaching practice is unique to your personal and professional desires, so don't compare what you're doing or want to be doing with what others are doing. • Why I Hope Amazon's Whole Foods Buyout Brings About The Death of Retail as We Know It

    18/06/2017 Duration: 14min

I'm interested in moving this conversation beyond mass consumerism. How will this buyout make our lives better? What impact will it have on the future of retail employment and retail workers? How can we get more creative with jobs that are considered low-level, menial, and otherwise undesirable? • Do You Really Need a Six-Figure Health Coaching Practice?

    15/06/2017 Duration: 10min

A lot of health coaches and fellow wellness and spiritual practitioners avoid the money part of their business, but we need money to grow our business and to support our own health and happiness. A popular marketing trend right now is to convince you to create a six-figure coaching practice. What's missing from these pitches is the amount of time (years) it may take some of you to hit six figures, and the things you have to be willing to do to stay there, such as continuously investing in your business and your personal development. Without putting an exact dollar amount on your coaching practice, here's another way to figure out how much you want to make and how you have to set yourself up to reach your money goals. Your health coaching practice is unique to your personal and professional desires, so don't compare what you're doing or want to be doing with what others are doing. • 5 Healing Herbs for Men

    14/06/2017 Duration: 09min

I tend to think of medicinal herbs as "stuff women use" and pills and supplements being the primary domain of men. Of course that isn't true, but that's how it's reflected in my bubble of reality. Today I talk about five herbs that have shown great benefits in supporting men's health concerns. Mentioned in this episode: Vog = Volcano Smog 12 Heart Attack Early Signs and Symptoms in Women & Men Rosemary Gladstar's Herbal Healing for Men Scientists Avoid Studying Women's Bodies Because They Get Periods Female Genital Mutilation in the US Sexism and Medical Terminology Surthrival's Pine Pollen Note: These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. • Stop Asking Kids What They Want to Be When They Grow Up

    13/06/2017 Duration: 08min

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. -Robert A. Heinlein On my list of possible careers growing up was chef, baker, model, photographer, massage therapist, and world traveler. I wasted so much time in my 20s trying to figure out the ONE thing I could get good at long enough to stick with it and be paid well for it and nothing came of any of it. Now that I'm nearing my 40s, I'm over this shit. It has been so exhausting, trying to make myself fit into the box of specialization. There's so much noise about choosing one thing, when we're actually quite capable of being so much more. I'm currently reading Emilie Wapnick's How to Be Everything as part o

  • How to Create Your Ideal Work Week

    08/06/2017 Duration: 10min

One of my goals for my health coaching practice is to have a three to four day workweek. This means getting everything in my business done, from working on my business (administrative, marketing, and money stuff) to working in my business (seeing clients), in that time. There are weeks when I work more than three or four days, especially if I'm fleshing out a new offer or creating new content, but because I have a structure in place for how I want to work, I can easily go back to it.
