Jared, a retired Police Officer from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, boasts an impressive career. In 2008, Jared Reston faced a life-altering incident. A suspected shoplifter fired upon him, causing severe injuries. Following the shootout, the wounded police officer's condition was listed as serious. Despite being shot multiple times, including the face, Jared remained conscious and was transported to Shands Jacksonville hospital in critical condition. Reston's life was saved by his bulletproof vest, which absorbed three bullets aimed at his chest. However, he sustained injuries to his face, leg, and buttocks during the incident.
