And most people I meet don't fully grasp the concept of healing, especially self-healing. So in today's episode, I thought I would discuss it a bit further and offer you a self-healing meditation. In The Courage To Be You, I refer to six emotional wounds that get stuck in the body: Abandonment, rejection, betrayal, uncertainty or change, judgment, or criticism, and failure. When we are avoiding our pain, we do three things. We distract ourselves, which means we busy ourselves, move our attention and distract ourselves from feeling that inner disturbance or inner pain. We react, which means we emotionally react. We cry, we scream, we get angry. Or we contract. And by contract, I mean we withdraw into ourselves. We shut down, and we just push everything down. We internalize everything. We go quiet.

    Today's meditation is called 7x3. This is a 7-minute meditation for you to do three times a day. Many people think that you need a lot of time to meditate. However, researchers have found that the best, results from meditation come from short, focused meditations done more frequently. So this 7x3 meditation is for you to do in the morning as you wake up, throughout your day, and perhaps in the afternoon when you start to fatigue, and then the best time would be to practice it again before you go to sleep. The practice of Meditation is about training your brain to be in the present moment and to really manage stress, levels. Ideally, we want to meditate in the moment which means that you can feel, your emotions and stress levels escalate and then bring yourself back down to calm. Ideally, we are looking to trigger the relaxation response which is the opposite of the fight-flight or freeze response, our stress response. Really important in our highly stressed fast-paced lives. I remeber sitting next to a powerful waterful and feeling a rush of energy enter me. Three words came to mind... I AM LOVE. These three words are such a powerful affirmation that reminds us who and what we are beyond our personalities. Beyond the story of the ego, beyond the conditioning of the mind, in the depth of our being is a flickering light. This light is powered by universal energy. No matter how we label this energy... God, Source or The Universe the essence of this energy is love- pure consciousness. Use this meditatio when you are stuck in an Egoic story. A delusional story that blinds you from the truth. As you say this affirmation, your body will respond to the resonance of these words. Your body will RE-member. Today’s meditation is one of my favourite techniques to clear out nervousness or anxiety from my body. Anxiety can be debilitating. I know because I have lived with anxiety for a large part of my life. To treat anxiety we need to understand emotion. Emotion can be seen as Energy in Motion. Stressful or negative thoughts generate emotion in the body. If that emotion is not released through crying, expression or exercise then it gets stored in the body as energy. That energy we feel is what we label anxiety or nervousness. It presents itself as symptoms such as a feeling of restlessness, nervousness, fluttering of the heart or tightness in the belly. Of these are signs of trapped energy in the body. This meditation is a great technique to get into your body and find the energy that is trapped within causing anxiety symptoms. Once you clear your body of this energy, you can return to a calm body and a still

    For many years I suffered with anxiety and for many people, anxiety can be debilitating and rob us of being able to be present and in the moment as the constant inner chatter and inner restlessness disable us to focus and be grounded. This meditation helped me connect with my anxiety, but instead of attaching to it and becoming it, it enabled me to see it as an energy which I could work through and let go of. I actually love to do this meditation standing but you can also do it sitting up or lying down, and if you have difficulty feeling it or visualising it, then just imagine the sensations in front of you.
