When the officers arrived, they were met by the suspect, who was armed with an assault-syle weapon and fired in their direction. White said one officer was struck and his partner returned fire, fatally striking the man. The injured officer later was pronounced dead at a hospital. The Police Chief James White hailed the officer who was killed while on the job near Joy Road and Marlowe Street as a hero. The state's top law enforcement official added: "May we honor and remember him as a hero and recognize the sacrifice those in law enforcement make on a daily basis to protect our communities."

I can't believe it! Nine years ago, I aired my first show with much fear and trembling.  At the time, there weren't many shows like Write Stuff, advocating for Christian creatives, espeically Christian authors of all varieties. From that moment to this, I've interviewed hundreds of authors from all over the world, read lots of good books, and have promoted many diverse forms of Christian fiction and non-fiction. Through the written word, I've solidified friendships, and partnerships with many different people and have enjoyed growing in this part of my life. What's wrong with being single? Absolutely nothing! There's societal pressure to be WITH someone. For some people, anyone. As long as we're not alone. In church, it's generally taught that being a couple is better than being alone. After all, in Genesis, the Lord says, "It's not good for man to be alone." Isn't this an edict? Get into a relationship, dear brother or sister... pronto! But what if... you're happy being single? The desire for a relationship outside familial or platonic friendships has no appeal to you. Not because of trauma, bad relationships, religious and/or philosophical dogma like nuns or monks, or anything like that. Not because you're a loner clinging to isolation.  It's just that you're simply happy and blessed to be single. How do you navigate societal pressure to get into a relationship when you know being single is the way that God made you? A Virginia father died by an apparent suicide after finding his son deasd inside his hot car. It appears the father accidentally left the 18-month old in the car for at least three hours. This marks the eighth child to die from a hot car this year. More than 1,000 kids have died from hit cars since 1990.

In a historic and far reaching decision, the U.S. Supreme Court officially reversed Roe v. Wade on Friday, declaring that the constitutional right to abortion upheld for nearly a half century, no longer exists. It was said that the 1973 Roe ruling and repeated subsequent high court decisions reaffirming Roe must be overruled because they were egregiously wrong, the arguments exceptiionally weak and so damaging that they amounted to an abuse of judicial authority. These means that young women today will come of age with fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers. The court said that from the very moment of fertilization, a woman has no rights to speak of. A state can force her to bring a pregnancy to term even at the steepest personal and familial costs. With sorrow, for this court, but more for the many millions of American women who have today lost fundamental constitutional protection, we dissent, they wrote.

The European slave trade in America begin around the year 1619. There are still forms of slavery and indentured servitude going on today.  Today we will focus on the Native Americans and their involvement with the slave trade. Today, 167 countries still have some form of modern slavery, which affects an estimated 46 million people worldwide. Modern slavery can be difficult to detect and recognize in many cases. This is because slavery has moved underground in most countries and because the definition of slavery has expanded and evoled over the past several decades. China, the earth's most populous country, has the second highest number of slaves at more than 3.8 million.

The two hours designed as an overview of what was described as a methodical conspiracy, led and coodinated by President Donald J. Trump, to thwart, the peaceful transfer of power and democracy itself. Trump was the center of the plot.
