Furious Fourcast

The Playstation 4 and Xbox One are both out in the wild and begun, the console wars have. The Furious Fourcast crew give their impressions of both next-gen consoles and how the launches went along with what what games they are playing. There's also a little talk about how easy access to livestreaming will be the end of civilization and the on-going South Park trilogy that manages to ape both the console wars and Game of Thrones at the same time.

The launch of the PS4 is just a week away with the Xbox One just a week after that. Next-gen consoles are finally here! The Furious Fourcast crew becomes a Tricast this week but talks console wars while adding some perspective on the launch of the current generation and previous generations before that.

October brings Halloween and plenty of scares but are good video games still being made in the horror genre? That's the question that the Furious Fourcast takes on with as Jen picks up hosting duties with guests Dan Tack, Kyle Gaddo and Max Parker. The group takes a look at horror games present and past to unlock what makes a good horror game and if it is even possible to still make a good horror game.

The Furious Fourcast returns with Episode number 18 which sees he return of Jen to the podcast. This week we talk the problems with the GTA Online launch and how the GTA V single-player is still going. There's also sad news that hit today as author Tom Clancy passed and the crew discusses his legacy not just in books and films but games as well. Destiny and Deus Ex Universe announcements this week also have the crew excited of what's in store for next year and beyond.

Grand Theft Auto V hit the streets this week and the Furious Fourcast is ready to give their initial impressions of the PS3 and Xbox 360 title from Rockstar Games. Adam, Max, Robert and Scott discuss their  craziest moments so far, the controversy around some of the reviews, their favorite characters and more.  Various PS4 announcements out of the Tokyo Game Show is discussed as well as the loss of an industry legend from Nintendo.

Illness struck the Furious Fourcast this week and....holy crap...it cost how much to make Grand Theft Auto V? Ahem. Anyways, the crew is a man and/or woman down for episode 16 as they talk the PS Vita, PS Vita TV and PS4 announcements from Japan and what it all means from our American perspective. Meanwhile, Microsoft employees are braving Reddit and NeoGAF to defend the Xbox One and Hideo Kojima was forced to respond to controversy over Metal Gear Solid V's scantily clad female sniper.  Plus, there's also a little talk about the Robocop trailer that looks like it may end up in the barrel of horrible remakes alongside Total Recall. And this week's Burning Question polls whether or not the newly announced iPhone 5S is enticing enough to upgrade.

It seems like games never lacks for anything to talk about and that was especially true this week as Microsoft finally dropped the date for the Xbox One launch and now we have the console war with the PS4 set for November. There was also both PAX Prime and Dragon Con this week that three of the Fourcasters attended with some notable controversy at one. Plus, there's news that Dragon Age: Inquisition will feature playable Qunari which is a huge disappointment to Jen. And this week's Burning Question is what is the first next-gen game you plan to purchase?

Holy lengthy podcast title, Batman! The Furious Fourcast is broadcasting a little early this week with two of the casters heading to conventions this week. That doesn't stop Jen, Adam, Robert and Scott from talking the casting controversy of Ben Affleck as Batman and Miley Cyrus' twerking at VMAs (despite Scott's protests).  Yes, there is plenty of game discussion too though including the leak and "gone gold" announcement of Grand Theft Auto V, an unfortunate incident involving GTA IV and what Xbox One and PS4 game reveals out of Gamescom impressed the most. There's also a heavy discussion of Disney Infinity. And this week's burning question involves the worst of the Star Wars expanded universe which somehow led into a contest involving twerking Ewoks.  What?!?  Yeah, it's the Furious Fourcast y'all.

Gamescom hit Tuesday and Microsoft, Sony and Electronic Arts brought plenty for the Furious Fourcast crew to talk about in an early edition of the weekly podcast. There was a PS4 release date along with a plethora of games a PS Vita price drop and plenty of shots fired. There was Xbox One with some interesting announcements and gameplay footage of TitanFall, Forza 5, Project Spark plus free games with the console and more but not as much new. And, there was an Electronic Arts showcase for all of its upcoming games. Max, Robert, Jen and Scott hit the topics on what was shown at Gamescom plus look ahead at what the Xbox One release date might be now and whether either will see any launch issues like consoles in the past.  Also, this week's Burning Question asks if the Sony press conference moved the needle to swing more people into the PS4 camp.

With the dual reveals of Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer and GTA V's Grand Theft Auto Online this week, the Furious Fourcast crew talked about the contrasts between the two and which one made the better impression. Also discussed is what is happening with the PS4 and Xbox One next week and what moves Sony and Microsoft will make with release dates for the next-gen consoles. Not to mention the latest change to the Xbox One regarding the Kinect, EA's impressive Humble Bundle and the surge of game releases next week starting with Disney Infinity. The Batman: Arkham Origins and Forza 5 collectors/limited edition get compared as well which kind of ties into the Burning Question of the Week as Adam, Jen, Robert and Scott discuss which comic books they would like to see Rocksteady Studios turned into games.

The Furious Fourcast quickly went off the rails for the Episode 11 recording Thursday night and struggled to get back on the tracks. In between teasing Jen for her WoW fishing addiction, Scott dealing with a door to door salesman at a late hour and other silliness, the crew discusses whether or not the changes revealed in the latest Game Informer magazine article about Dragon Age: Inquisition touches their excitement meter after the disappointment that was Dragon Age II. Speaking of wavering between disappointment and excitement, the Xbox One unboxing video and the latest 180 that Microsoft has taken and the features locked behind Xbox LIVE Gold. They also touch on the Naughty Dog's alternate ending for The Last of Us in a slightly spoiler-ish section at about the 43 minute through the 48 minute mark so beware. Before that though, there's a little movie talk with the kerfuffle between Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis in The Expendables 3 and thoughts on the new Thor: The Dark World trailer. Check it out

Dragon's Crown from Vanillaware and Atlus is releasing to the PS3 and PS Vita this week so the Furious Fourcast assembles for a very special after 'cast. Adam, Jen, Robert and Kyle talk the gameplay and controversy surrounding the side-scrolling hack-and-slash RPG hybrid.

The Furious Fourcast goes incognito for Episode 10 with "Carlos Danger" style alter egos. When they're not making fools of themselves, Adam, Jen, Robert and Scott talk Grand Theft Auto V and how Rockstar Games can pretty much do as they please around the Take Two offices, BioShock Infinite's return to Rapture, will anyone care about Batman: Arkham Origins enough to miss it on the Wii U, Square Enix giving Tomb Raideranother go on PS4 and Xbox One, plus Activision pulling out the Dr. Evil pinky finger when talking Destiny.Also, this week's Burning Question concerns gameplay preference with a bonus question on Titan preference.

Microsoft made yet another big policy change for the Xbox One with indie dev self-publishing and every console is potentially a dev kit! Kickstarter campaigns have been up and down this week as well which provides plenty of fodder but Robert got to go to Comic-Con and share a little of what he saw and picked up while there.And the Burning Question of the Week puts two not so great Batman movies on the barbie.

Look out as the Furious Fourcast does its very first SpoilerCast! What does that mean? We basically run through the entire story and gameplay for the PS3 exclusive, The Last of Us. All the twists, turns and major plot points are discussed so if you aren't ready to hear them...don't listen! Jen, Adam, Scott and Max talk about the moments they loved, the moments they hated and which parts made them a little verklempt and which parts they wish included a schnauzer.

The Furious Fourcast returns after taking a one week break while Scott was on vacation to talk about what the heck is up with Xbox head guy Don Mattrick leaving for Zynga of all places. While $50 million may have had something to do with that he leaves behind some problems like Microsoft's insistence of shooting itself in the foot by talking about Xbox One and advertisements with Kinect.Nintendo isn't spared either as the Wii U is in a world of hurt according to Michael Pachter and Jen, Robert, Adam and Scott don't necessarily disagree but for slightly different reasons.They also talk about the word from Double Fine about Broken Age being split into two games because it became too big for the $4 million it got from Kickstarter as well as a laundry list of games that are currently in the queue. This include the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title, [Redacted].As for the Burning Question of the Week, Scott asks, "What would it take to get you to see The Lone Ranger?

The Furious Fourcast reunites for a seventh episode and, darnit, Microsoft forces us to talk about the Xbox One yet again with its complete reversal on DRM requirements. We delve into the features gained and loss for the console with this change along with if it is now more competitive with the PS4. The Last of Us for the PS3 is making waves as well as we try to find out who has it made cry. We also return to the world of movies by sharing our thoughts on Man of Steel and if this is a sign that DC is getting its act together for movie properties not named "Batman."  For What It Is.

Following the mayhem of E3 2013, the Furious Fourcast brings in two special guests (Jason Evangelho from Forbes and Kyle Gaddo from SaveContinue) to talk about what went down in Los Angeles for the PS4, Xbox One and Wii U along with what they liked and what they didn't.  Let's face it though. This was really just an excuse for excessive drinking and now everyone is trying to recover.

The fifth episode of Furious Fourcast comes in just after Microsoft makes a large number of announcements concerning how the Xbox One handles used games, multiple accounts, internet connection requirements and other details. In short, it's crazy and Robert, Scott and Adam jump right in to all that's bad. It's not all Xbox One talk though as the trio discuss Konami's pre-E3 announcements including Keifer Sutherland as Snake along with what they hope and don't hope to see at E3 next week. There's also some strange happenings with the Wii U Basic and a supposed recall. So tune in, relax and let us melt your brain.

The Furious Fourcast crew welcomes Max Parker from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as they discuss the negative reaction from the gaming community to the Xbox One that has carried over a week and a half later. There's also plenty of talk about what does Sony have planned for the PS4, the PS Vita and used games, Mirror's Edge 2 rumors, and our take on the Feminist Frequency's latest opinion on women and video games.And this week's Burning Question: What console exclusive do you want to see on which next-gen console?
