Think about Faith in a whole new way -- as Holy Discontentment. It's the faith of Abraham as described in Romans 4: 13-25. And, like Abraham, such a discontented faith can aid us in carrying on as we wait on God to fulfill His promises.

But perhaps no caricature is more debilitating than the one one propogated by many Christians themselves -- the belief that the gospel of grace is only for salvation, but once you're saved it's time to move on & DO the Christian life.Piggy-backing off last week, Pastor Ryan explains how grace is not only crucial for salvation but also for everyday living.

The Apostle Paul recognized that he was sharing something that seemed too good to be true -- even to the new converts and interested seekers of his day. So he provided them reason to believe the otherwise unbelievable. The result would be a new humanity, a new defining lifestyle, and a new destiny.

The Book of Romans mentions “Wrath” a dozen times – more than any other book in the New Testament (even ‘end-of-days’ Revelation). There must be a reason why God cares so much about this word just as there’s a reason this word is so foreign to our everyday living. Examining Romans 2: 1-11, Pastor Ryan explores a biblical understanding of wrath and gives four ways in which this word (yes this word) matters for living.

We continue our the series Big Words for Living: 10 Words from the Book of Romans. Pastor Ryan explains that a right understanding of this disease & its cure matters for how you reach others for Jesus, how you aim to alleviate society's ills, how you love your neighbor, & the quality of your walk with God.

Use the Law or else the Law will use you. More than anything, this ominous fact is why knowing & applying God's "Archaic" Law to our lives really matters. Attached is the document mentioned in the sermon. Would encourage anyone to use it to meditate on God's Law this week, in order to first see your inability & then to rely fully on Jesus for forgiveness -- which is the only way one can actually begin living out God's Law.

This Sunday marked the beginning of a new sermon series -- BIG Words for Living: 10 Words from the Book of Romans.In this introductory sermon, Pastor Ryan addresses two questions: 1) Why does God choose to communicate using BIG words? ; 2) How are they helpful for living?In addressing these two questions, we find that reinforcing these Words & Beliefs are crucial in our fight against Satan & His lies.
