  • Episode #3: Danielle Custer, Surviving the Storm

    Danielle Custer and her husband Scott were born and raised in New Orleans. They have been married for 20 years and have two children, Will (13) and Grace (16). In 2005 their New Orleans home was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. After several months they made the difficult decision to leave much of their family and move to Houston to make a new start. Then in August of 2017 the threat of Hurricane Harvey became very real as the rain began to fall. Over 50 inches of rain fell and the water flooded into their home. When they were finally able to go back into their home they found it and most of the contents had been destroyed. Danielle describes what it is like to face not one, but two devastating losses. Danielle has passed along to many her knowledge of how to survive the storm and has done so with an encouraging "we're going to be ok" spirit. You'll both learn and be encouraged by Danielle.
