Overdue Finds

On this episode of Overdue Finds we go back 20 years (yes, it's been that long) to take a look at the year 2000. Bryce and Caroline are joined by librarians Carol Ma and Cassidy Munro to look at the top movies, books, music, and TV that helped kick-off the new millennium. The group also talks about the paranoia around Y2K, the controversial 2000 US Presidential election (hanging chad) and making some mixed CD's. Bryce and Caroline are joined by local actors Belinda Cornish and Julien Arnold to talk about the many adaptations (dare we say, adaptations past, present and future?) of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. In June 2003, former WWE wrestler Dr. Chris Nowinski suffered a serious concussion that threatened his health and cost him his career. Today, Dr. Chris Nowinski is the co-founder of the Concussion Legacy Foundation with Dr. Robert Cantu to solve the sports concussion crisis through education, awareness, policy and research. Dr. Nowinski will be here in Edmonton on September 17th as part of EPL’s Forward Thinking Speaker Series and he chats with Bryce and Caroline in this special episode about his upcoming event, the important work that his team is doing at the Concussion Legacy Foundation and his time in the WWE.
