  • Go Outside In The Sun - Listen NOW!

    19/05/2021 Duration: 16min

Have you been getting enough sun in your life lately? I would bet probably not as much as you normally would but that's going to change after this episode because I talk about the benefits of the golden sun. The sun will nourish you on all fronts. That fireball in the sky truly is astounding. And if you don't have a lot of time to spend outdoors on warm spring and summer days, then just grab a bit of time, 15-20 minutes during lunch, or take a quick walk with Fido in the early morning or late afternoon.  Did you know that the sun also produces good old vitamin D and it has a variety of health benefits that you can also get as a supplement? If you are that busy person that can't spend the time outdoors to get this wonderful miracle of life then I have great news for you here as well. And, of course, the episode wouldn't be complete without my very own cautionary tale about the sun because May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. I wrap the episode by pivoting a bit but not to worry. I will end the episode on a sunn

  • Van Life - On Being A Van-Dweller - Who Is It For?

    12/05/2021 Duration: 13min

Have you ever wondered about living in a van? No? Well, if the van life is not for you that's okay. Truly, it's not everyone's cup of tea.  In this episode, I start by talking about the Oscar-winning new movie, Nomadland. The movie is about Fern who became "houseless" and now lives in her van. She's still adjusting. I found there are two types of van-dwellers and I discuss both. The demographic for both groups couldn't be more different! On one side there's a person like Fern who is 60 years old and became "houseless" when her husband died. She's lonely. It's heartbreaking. On the other side, there's Stephi, a YouTuber, she's 20-something, and has a completely different motivation for living in a van. She has fun and is carefree for the most part and has friends and parties to look forward to. She has a pretty cool life. I love when I can research people living in a somewhat unique and different way than the average person. So enlightening and I hope it is for you, too. Thank you for listening to this episode

It is in my opinion that mostly all of us can't wait to get outside, be with the people, eat together, go to the beach together, go to movies together, walk next to each other, do everything together. I talk about activist, Jane Jacobs and how she has made an everlasting difference. She believed in the power of fresh air and neighborhoods, communities with parks, and other outdoor activities that bring people great joy and life. I love to know that this spring everyone will be once again united... enjoying the beautiful communities, towns, and cities that we know and love. There will be no more bleakness, depression, and hopelessness.  Only goodness and fun I wish for you and your family and friends. Thank you for listening to this episode. I hope you enjoyed it. 07/04/2021 Duration: 13min

If we lived a perfect life with all our needs met there would be no problem. Right? Well, some of us have not been as lucky as you or me.  In this episode, I talk about one great organization that helped me in my time of need. Yes, indeed, The Salvation Army came to my aid back in 1990 when I was living in NYC. There is truly so much good coming from The Salvation Army that it's hard to think of it all without my head starting to hurt. It's true though. Everything The Salvation Army does is to better all people from all over the world. Whether it be a need for a homeless shelter, help with drug abuse, a safe place after a domestic violence incident, or true help after the Covid-19 poverty, you can bet that The Salvation Army will be active on the scene with professional help, volunteers, and a loving attitude.  This is intended to be an inspiring episode with joy and happiness because of the great people at The Salvation Army. • Have We Shifted? - Our Buying Power Before And During Covid-19

    17/03/2021 Duration: 18min

Are you wondering about America's buying power before the pandemic vs during the pandemic? I've been wondering so I've done some research about how we all spend our time and money. Is it rational? It's very telling to see what exactly we were purchasing and what exactly we are now purchasing. What were our personal favorites before Covid-19? Has it changed drastically during Covid-19? There is no doubt that we have everyday needs, wants, and desires even though we're at home. Nothing really has changed regarding that, after all, we still want to feel good, satisfied, and happy. Americans desperately want an enhanced life and we all want to have our rituals, and indulgences met, whether it be through ice cream, a homemade family dinner, or an interesting and entertaining app from the Apple ecosystem. Are Americans prepared for life after the "new normal"...whatever that looks like? You'll find out in this research-filled episode that is truly all about YOU. • Times Square - NYC - Then And Now

    24/02/2021 Duration: 14min

Times Square in New York City is bustling and crowded. Or at the very least, we all hope it will be that way soon again. But back in the late 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s Times Square was a scary and sleazy drug and, prostitute hang-out. Full of X-rated movies and plenty of trouble. If you wanted to go there, you were advised to go there at your own risk. Until one day a group of city officials (Governors, Mayors, and Police Commissioners) decided to make New York City great again, as it once was so long ago. They decided on cleaning up Times Square since it was in the heart of the city. The "Big Apple" as it was once called, was making its way back, baby. And with a lot of determination, drive, and money from some Hollywood-types, Times Square made its comeback.   And now we can all see the glory of Times Square courtesy of our television sets on New Year's Eve as the ball drops on this now empty part of the city due to the pandemic. Hopefully not empty for long! Thank you for listening to this episode! Links for
