The Leftover Army Monsters are back after a small hiatus (due to lazy editor and host) and we are heading back into the Showa era Gamera series with Gamera vs Zigra. Being considered the black sheep of the original series, it honestly isn't hard to see why. With all of the usual kid stuff dialed up to 11 here, the kaiju sequences are even more lacking than usual. But what do we all think? Well tune in and listen to us and Jesse Candelori and find out!

Trilogies are often hotly debated about which is the best. Though usually the 3rd isn't the one that is given that honor. However, this week, the Leftover Army Monsters head back to Infant Island one last time to cover what is usually considered the best in the Rebirth of Mothra trilogy with it's final installment. But is this third one as good as it is known to be? Well tune in and find out!

Brian talks about finishing his recent shoot in Malaysia for the film Space Ninjas as well as sharing his stories of hollywood and his career. This week, the Leftover Army Monsters divert from the regular content, and instead head back to the West to talk about the work of one of the greatest effects gurus of all time. We are talking about the one and only Stan Winston, and his directorial debut of 1988's PumpkinHead. Traditionally this film wouldn't be considered a "kaiju" film, but it would be wrong to never talk about the effects work Stan did for so many decades, creating some of the most iconic movie monsters and practical effects of all time. Sometimes a show is ended early, or not even given a chance to get off the ground. This week, the Leftover Army Monsters examine a relic from the mid 1960's that fits both criteria... Agon the Atomic Dragon. Created by Godzilla screenwriter Shinichi Sekizawa, this series from 1964 was put into the vault by Toho for 4 years, never seeing the light of day, until it was tossed onto TV with little care. But was it worthy of such discarding? Join us as we take a look and find out

After a little break due to the 26th annual G-Fest, the Leftover Army Monsters are BACK! This time, we head right back into our favorite turtle with the first of the 90's Heisei Gamera trilogy: Gamera Guardian of the Universe! This trilogy is lauded as some of the best kaiju films of all time, for their amazing visual effects as well as great story telling and even music. But how do some non die hard fans feel about it? This week, we are talking about the 2006 movie, Gamera the Brave. A soft reboot after the acclaimed 90's Heisei trilogy, this one moves back towards the more kid friendly roots of the franchise. But do the Kennys return as well? And if so, are they as bad as ever? Find out!

There are kaiju purists out there who don't like the intentionally campy or schlock entries into the genre. Some believe that those kinds of movies just take away from what they love, and the genre should be taken seriously as legit film. I respectfully disagree. While great films like King Kong (1933) and the original Gojira, as well as others help elevate and give exposure to the genre, at its heart, kaiju movies are silly by nature. And when a film comes along that clearly has love for kaiju, but can also lampoon it, well that sounds good to me. So join us this episode as we talk about Zarkorr the Invader!!

You WANT to support anything in the genre, mostly out of fear of it going away and only having so much content. But there are those films that are just for a different audience. After the thrills of the weekend release of Godzilla King of the Monsters, we at the Leftover Army Monsters are taking it a little easy this week. So instead of jumping back into a big movie, we are covering a small independent, and VERY hard to find, movie called Deep Sea Monster Reigo vs Battleship Yamato. The title is almost as long as the movie! The indie kaiju scene of the 2000's is quite the diverse landscape. But is this movie one of the better ones? Only way to find out is to listen in and here us talk about it!

It's the weekend release of the new Godzilla King of the Monsters, and of course, the Leftover Army Monsters is here to cover it! The 3rd installment of what is called the Monsterverse is here! As a Godzilla fan, I don't get to see many of these movies in the theater, so when it DOES happen, I will always be there. With the tragedy that was the 1998 American Godzilla, the public is always weary about Godzilla on the big screen. And of course, everyone is going to be reviewing this movie, from the experts to the newbies. So LOM is here to give all perspectives in one episode! Continuing on the Memorial weekend Kaiju Bash we have the start of the new Monsterverse, the 2014 Godzilla reboot! After a disaster of a first attempt back in 1998, Hollywood was given a second chance to do the King of the Monsters proper justice. But did they hit the mark this time? After the financial success of Godzilla 2014, Legendary announced the movie Skull Island. With this being yet another Kong movie, it was concerning to see what they could do that hasn't already been done. But as the movie came together, it looked good! But does it work? Day 2 of the 2019 Memorial Day Kaiju Bash is here, this time talking about the 1966 Daiei film The Magic Serpent. Similar to Orochi the 8 Headed Dragon, this film is more of a samurai film, but with kaiju elements. It also is based in the Japanese folklore story of Jiraiya! It is highly regarded by the fandom, but how does it stack up to the Leftover Army Monster? Well only one way to find out!

Part of the generic but fun "giant animal" movies made during this time, it focuses on a small Arizona town and one crazy scientist.
