You've Never Seen That!?

Holy crap guys. This show in amazing. It has so much representation it's insanity, and they tackle so many huge and important topics without ever making it seem overstuffed or two dimensional. Our boy Freddy Highmoore kills it (no one was surprised) and there is really only one detriment to this show... note enough Shemar Moore. It need more Shemar Moore.

Well we've officially been doing this long enough that I think we hit our equivalent of a clip show. We agree that Criminal Minds isn't a bad show, it's just also not a good show, so we reminisce on so many other shows that we've watched. Did you guys know we watched Ugly Betty? I literally forgot. Criminal Minds is exactly what you'd expect if to be "FBI Procedural" that does a terrible job of casting episode specific actors and has them play neurodivergent children.

Well we after a brief hiatus of a week to remind ourselves that this is a comedy podcast we're back as we watch a mid two thousands, which felt like a mid nineties sitcom, that somehow both does and doesn't explain where David Spade has been the last ten years. Rules of Engagement is a show, we know that much, but it almost feels more like a writing prompt in a creative writing elective at your local community college.

This week we watch arguably the worst show ever made Last Man Standing. A show that decides to give the "conservative point of view" about life in a man's world in which he's surrounded by women?! A-buh what? What could possibly go wrong, and be cringeworthy about this premise. Listen along as our heads explode over being vegan pussies, the comforting, and totally assured, reality of heaven, and just what it means to be a "scientist" in these trying times.

Listen along as we get an episode almost hand picked for the absurd nature of this podcast and as our good friend, and Secret Street Fighter Character comrade Deljon Willis is unimpressed by it, and our bullshit.

Take journey with us back in time to the early 2000's, Dickies are cool, Abercrombie is cool, The Van's Warped Tour is Super cool, and Alias is... also... cool? Honestly, it's hard to tell because this show seems like it would be hella cool back in the early days of the new millennium, but now it just seems kind of... comical? Check out this week's episode: Alias.

As purveyors of the ritual of a fun day upon a Sunday ourselves, this show hit a little close to home in a delightfully refreshing way. Listen along as we discuss what on paper sounds like "people in transition from young adulthood to being full fledged adults navigate the world of love, friendship, and personal fulfillment" but what is actually a very good show. Also, what else are you going to do, spend your morning shaving your husbands buttonhole? (It's from the show, don't worry.)

In the course of us doing this show we've learned one thing: cop dramas are mehhh at best, blah at worst, but when you add a delightful twist they become, slightly enjoyable. iZombie is a story about a medical student turned zombie who tries to manage her cravings, help her friends and city, and be a treasure while doing it. There's a B Plot that's not very great, but over all Liv, Ravi, Clive, Rob Gronkowski, and even Pam make it a fun to watch take on an age old story.

It's really no secret that AMC does it again with another banger of a show. This week we watched "Preacher" and despite being thoroughly confused and curious about all the butt play, we both soundly agree: this is an awesome show. If you're a fan of good art, great storytelling, awesome character development, and shadowy Seth Rogan involvement, this is the show for you. Also, the joke that Hitler became Hitler over Plum Cake is pretty funny.

Well we say it a lot "this show isn't for us", but we have never encountered a show that is so not even remotely for us that we don't know what to do. This show was an early 2000's drama about the life of a group of lesbians in LA. Interestingly enough, we both decided that while not written for us, and kind of convoluted, this show was a very important piece of the early 2000's landscape and took on a lot to move the dialogue on homosexual relationships forward, and for that, we applaud it.

The year is 2018, all the legendary workplace sitcoms, The Office, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, have all gone by the way side, among the rubble and ash one show emerges a worthy predecessor. This week, we watch Superstore. Unsure of if it's our own love for Green Day or the fact this show is actually very well written, we came to the general consensus, this is a good show. Hey guys, it's me, long time friend of the show Nathan Fillion, and I am so excited to say that the guys finally did an episode on Castle. I have to admit, their takes were pretty good. Listen along as they realize the whole thing is satire of the cop procedural meant to be endearingly charming, and no Bellamy, a Quinceañera is not when a Jewish boy becomes a man when he's 16. That's not even a Bar Mitzvah, that happens at 13.

Season Four of the You've Never Seen That podcast continues with more startling revelations about how Matt LeBlanc is apparently the nexus point through which every multiverse must travel. Also, we watch a TV show where he plays himself and portrays a much more methodical, but delightfully insane Hollywood. Listen along as we digest Matt LeBlanc living with all that Friends money, doing whatever the hell he wants and actually making some really good television along the way.

Leading the way as Season 4's first Cop Procedural, we watched the NBC?... ABC?... TNT?... I dunno, whatever: Blue Bloods. A show that feels just like every other procedural cop drama we've watched, and even has the exact same plot as The Shield. The only difference here? Tom Selleck's mustache. How do you like your cop dramas? Essentially lukewarm mashed potatoes? You'll love Blue Bloods.

Well guys if 2017 wasn't weird enough for you, we're starting 2018 off right with a show that is undoubtably weird, and questionably, very bad. This week we watched the Nickelodeon Dark Ages cartoon show Invader Zim and decided it falls just a bit too on the side of antisocial behavior, nihilism, and narcissism to justify all the tee shirts Hot Topic has sold.
