This week’s Local Selection Mix comes from rising techno selector, PageOne. The Undivided boss man has supplied an hour of top-tier minimal techno grooves. Following on from an EP on his imprint, Undivided, the Dublin producer returns to Four Four Mag with a stellar hour of techno. The young producer has been on a great run lately after making his Index debut & hosting his debut party in Bow Lane. The Donabate native has also received support from some of techno’s finest up & comers in recent times with artists such as Marron, Alarico, TWR72 & more playing out his music. PageOne has been cementing his name as one of the fastest rising youngsters in techno in Ireland today! Solidifying a signature sound so early in his career which is, minimal, pacey and groovy. The mix is an hour long trip through PageOne’s library of techno. The Dublin selector paces through grooves with ease. This is a real treat! For our first premiere of the week, we present a pumping house track from Galway's, Dave Era. Straight to the point dance-floor business from the Galway native. Dave Era aka David Shortt is a DJ/Producer from Galway. He co-owns Devoid, a collective based in Galway, and is a resident of A Collective based in Athlone. Over the last few years David has developed his sound, bringing a fresh take to his music, bringing elements of classic house and techno to life across uplifting melodies, breaks, stabs and straight 909 power. We premiere his latest track ‘It’s Like That‘, which Dave will be uploading to his Bandcamp. The track is reminiscent of older jacking house with touches of the UK rave scene. Having previously released on various labels and promotional channels such as Moskalus, Houz, Zone Focus, A Collective and Lefty Shades Records, we expect to hear a lot more from Dave in the near future as the strength of talent in Ireland continues to blossom. To round off a fantastic week of techno premieres, we present German techno boss, Denise Rabe’s remix of Alexander Kowalski under his DISX3 alias. This comes as part of an outstanding EP on one of our favourite label’s, Out Of Place. Denise Rabe and Alexander Kowalski, was always going to be a perfect pairing. Denise has been putting out top-tier 12 inches since 2015, having released on labels such as Arts, Blacklabel Distillery & her own imprint ‘Rabe’. Each record tells a story that’s somewhat undecipherable, atmospheric and trippy. Record’s that aren’t made to be understood but made to feel and her flip of techno stalwart Alexander Kowalski, does just that. Denise Rabe’s remix flip’s Kowalski’s acid fuelled original, into more subtle terrority with a variety of deep, atmospheric, trippy but yet driving sounds with a fantastic breakey feel to it. We have the great pleasure of premiering a track from of one techno’s most instrumental figures, Robert Hood under his Monobox alias. This comes as part of Regenerate album which is due for release tomorrow on his infamous imprint, M-Plant. Robert Hood began his Monobox alias in 1996 and has since released an album and various EP’s under the monarch. Today we premiere the track ‘Blackwater Canal’ which comes as part of his seven track album which features classic minimal grooves from the proclaimed founder of minimal techno. Robert Hood: “Monobox was an alien project. I read this book when I was probably around 13 or 14. It was this ominous black box that came from some other universe, and it was just sort of hovering over the planet, over a cornfield somewhere.” For the return of Monobox, Hood has envisaged that the vessel has been lying dormant for 40 or 50 years and is now beginning to rise up again, or regenerate. Our 55th mix in our ever-growing Global Mix series this week comes from a collective, rather than the usual touring or emerging artists. Today we're buzzed to welcome 3 of Scotland's soundest promoters and party starters, ALL U NEED to our hot seat, as they provide us with a whopping 4 hours 30 mins mix of club heat, recorded live from Subclub, in Glasgow on Halloween night. The Glasgow based collective, made up of Alex Dobie, Zander Coulter and Graham Brown, first came onto our radar back in 2019, whilst we worked on a sold out KETTAMA club show in Glasgow's huge SWG3 venue. Upon visiting Glasgow and attending their party, the crew, not only excellent hosts and party throwers, we got to experience first hand their tight mixing skills really and absolute fun taste in tunes. ALL U NEED has been a constant for 7 years, set up by a group of friends getting to do what they love week in, week out. Foremost, the trios main focus is to promote local and emerging talent, who are briefed to play “solid club music”

Our second premiere of the week, comes from one of the most in demand producers and DJ’s in techno right now, Hadone. The French based producer has delivered a clean cut, rhythmic, catchy and melodic dance floor weapon, that’s been beautifully all rolled up into just over six minutes. The prolific producer has delivered the goods once again. Having made some of the biggest techno hits of the last few years, he puts his Hadone trademark on yet another project. Tracks like ‘Hope Reminds Me Of Her’, ‘Timing The Passion’, ‘On The Edge Of Adhesion’, ‘Miles Away’ and more have culminated into the millions of streams on various platforms for the French producer. The track is driven by a pounding kick dum, fleeting synth lines, sharp percussion hits and an encapsulating vocal loop. Our first premiere of the week comes from German DJ and producer, bw, who is set to drop his hypnotic and rolling techno track 'Sneak Out' on Croatian label, Secession. For Secession's seventh instalment, the label ran by producer and DJ Volster, they welcome Munich based DJ and producer bw to the imprint. He has developed a consistent sound producing rolling techno tracks that are both intricate and hypnotic, often with just the right amount of industrial elements. His stripped down grooves and almost tool like tracks in his debut EP 'Gazes' are carving the way for a new generation of emerging techno artists. Our final premiere of the week comes from Dublin DJ and producer, Nathan O Connor, AKA NAT TYPE, who today releases his deep and moody track 'FOLLOW U', with the 83 label imprint. Nathan O Connor, known as ‘NAT TYPE’ is one of the countries many young upcoming producers. Based in Dublin, his genre style is mainly house and techno, but also likes to be experimental with his productions. Starting at the age of just 12, the Dublin DJ and producer has played in many nightclubs across the city, supporting international DJs from Boxia and Flashmob to Josh Butler. He is also one of the founders of Dublin based collective, ‘Influence’. Today we premiere his track 'FOLLOW U'. The track displays a somewhat new and refreshing cut from the Irish producer, as the artist provides a sizzling breakbeat number, reminiscent of artists such as Bicep and Prospa. Our Local Selection mix is back this week, with a top drawer techno mix from one of Dublin’s best, Stephen Mahoney. Stephen’s pieced together an excellent driving techno trip. Stephen Mahoney has been an avid record collector and selector for many years, Pascal Feos and Gataneo Parisio being early influences. Throughout the late 2000’s he was involved with various Collectives and DJ’d various venues of the cities underground. Stephen also ran Analog Club night which saw Dj sets from Volster & Insolate. Stephen all the while had been producing Eps which saw it’s first release on Coincidence Records and then started Shelter Records, which saw releases from Volster, Aubrey, Lars Huismann, Flexure, Ben Gibson and a remix from Lee Holman. Stephen Became one half of duo, Flexure with Jamie Behan, which saw two releases and a date at New Faces at Tresor. We’re very pleased to present a premiere from one of electro’s giants, Detroit’s Filthiest. The Detroit pioneer comes through with a pacey electro, hip shaker. Detroit’s Filthiest went by many names in the past, DJ Nasty, Digitek, 313 Bass Mechanics were some of his aliases in the ’90s. During this time he was part of a movement from Detroit that established ghettotech as a DJ-style as well as an electronic music genre. In 2015 he re-entered the game as Detroit’s Filthiest and in 2017 he collaborated with Sinistarr on ‘Yo Speakerz. His ‘Honor Among Thieves EP’ in 2018 provided yet another Detroit infused hit with ‘Funky Sperm’ which amassed over 900,000 plays. Detroit’s Filthiest returns to the Defrostatica label with four no-frills up-tempo tracks that fuse electro, ghettotech and jungle as only Detroit’s Filthiest can. We kick off the weeks premiere's with a collaboration from two of Ireland's fast rising stars, as darkmavies and Sweet Philly combine for this outstanding 5 track EP. darkmavis and Sweet Philly began collaborating following Philly’s ‘Glorified’ remix as part of darkmavies ‘sodarksospicy’ EP with Dubiln DJ and producer sohotsospicy. Back in July 2020, in the depths of lockdown and in a hungover state, we received an email with a new track and music video to match, featuring at the time for us, an unknown producer called Samuel Powell... The self released track and video [edited by Josh Meany], was a nostalgic throwback to better times, featuring many haunts and locations in Dublin, with friends, laughter, emotion, portraits, dancing, club nights and society in full swing. The video and track hit hard as Ireland and the world was stuck between a never ending lockdown and isolations, coupled with immense anxiety and fears, wondering just how long we might have to wait to experience those feelings of togetherness again. To put it simply, the track and video was stunning, full of beauty, but immensely sad and poignant, which we absolutely loved and wanted to champion as best we could. It summed up the country. New music coming from one of Dublin’s fastest rising techno stars, Shannen Blessing. Shannen returns to the Four Four Premiere with yet another techno weapon, entitled, She Is Lost. The young selector has quickly garnered a name for herself within the Irish techno scene. Sharp DJ skills and a mature ear for selecting records have helped Shannen receive some high profile gigs since her club debut in 2019. Shannen has shared the stage with techno heavyweights such as, Lag, Introversion, Inhalt Der Nacht and Parallx. Ahead of Shannen’s highly anticipated show with DVS1 & Sunil Sharpe, she releases yet another Free Download track on our Four Four Premiere Series. For our latest Local Selection, we welcome a stalwart of the Irish house and techno scene, Eddie Reynolds, aka Tr One, as the prolific DJ and producer records a jam packed mix full or techno rarities from the golden era. Being no stranger to the Irish scene, Eddie Reynolds aka Tr One is a DJ and producer based in Carlow. A much-respected figure within Ireland’s fertile electronic music scene, Reynolds cites the likes of Dublin’s D1 Recordings, Kraftwerk and J Dilla as early influences. Equally inspired by vintage sounds of Chicago and Detroit, he started dabbling in production in the early 00s alongside fellow Irish producer, Dean Feeney. Fast-forward over a decade and although the project may now consist of Reynolds only, his dedication to all things house, techno and electro remain unwavering. A prolific producer, Reynolds’ sounds has led him to some of his country’s most-renowned labels, including Lunar Disko, Apartment, Bodytonic and Pogo. Our second premiere of the week comes from legendary techno producer Inigo Kennedy. The pioneering techno producer provides an off-kilter, dark and melodic masterpiece on his imprint, Asymmetric. Inigo Kennedy returns to his celebrated imprint on with ‘Abacus Frames’, a brand new EP featuring five previously unreleased tracks from the esteemed producer’s music vault. The already highly anticipated release follows on from the widely praised ‘Eyes Closed in The Sun’ LP which Kennedy dropped in early September. ‘ The label, a haven to Kennedy’s most personal releases, and this latest offering remains true to this legacy, delving deep into the most mysterious recesses of his mind. One of 2021’s brightest Irish techno exports, Billy Spike Illand has delivered the goods once again. He returns on Common Sense Records after a VA earlier in the year, with a six track EP comprised of four originals and 2 remixes from the prolific producer ‘A Thousand Details’. The EP is packed with a variety of deep, atmospheric, mental, trippy and driving techno under the name “Access Automation” EP. Four original tracks that combine, sci-fi futuristic elements that dominate the sound design for an experimental journey. Today we premiere a stellar techno track from Dublin producer PageOne. We present the third track ‘Envelope Dealer’ from his groove focused five track EP, on his imprint, Undivided. Following on from Undivided’s first various artists release, the Dublin producer returns with a five track EP, with three originals from himself and two remixes from Oliver Dodd and Nicolas Volger. PageOne is cementing a definitive sound for himself and the label, as they focus on very minimal and groove focused techno. The sound is an ever-growing movement in techno right now with artists such as, Matrixxman, Rene Wise & TWR72, pushing it forward. Envelope Dealer is a pacey and loopy DJ tool that sits at a soaring 143 bpm. The track is dominated by a bouncy bassline that’s partnered with a crunchy 909 work out, as well as a washed out vocal hit. We welcome one of Dublin's finest to the Local Selection for a very, very long overdue mix, as Sarah Lennox contributes to our ever growing mix series. Sarah Lennox has been involved in Dublin’s music scene and behind the decks for over ten years now, reminiscing back to her residencies on Pirate Radio and her ‘Sauce’ residency in one of Dublin’s most iconic venues, The Kitchen. Sarah has gone to become a festival regular in Ireland, performing the likes of Life Festival, Mass Festival, also becoming a resident artist at Fuinneamh Festival. Combine this with being a resident for the well known Secret Society, she has built quite a reputation for herself. Now back in the studio after a few years hiatus, the Dublin DJ and producer is back releasing music, most recently her ‘Kaleidoscope’ and ‘Twister' EP's, making it clear that the Dublin producer was very much back in the swing of things once again.
