One of the longest running hip-hop events in Tokyo. DNZ is a turntablist Dj and twitch streamer. Since then he's been streaming deejay sets and preparing for Tokyo to open back up for events. The last time Foniks was on was during our Jansport J episode. Foniks is an illustrator, musician and producer. He's been branching out and making more hip-hop centric beats and collaborating with some of Tokyo local emcees.     This one dropped late because a variety of reasons but boom! great and interesting stuff! Akio James is a percussionist, student, dj and experimental music artist. Over the last several months he's been organizing improv sessions with Japanese musicians using a 360° camera and an ambisonic microphone to share on YouTube. In between performing, he's also working towards his master's degree in computer science/ engineering with a thesis focused on creating an augmented reality polyrhythmic metronome. Really interesting stuff. We also talk about what is experimental music. We get into all that along side friend of the show- guest co-host, Aaron Choulai. Listeners will recognize Aaron from several episodes. Aaron is a pianist, producer/beatmaker, and head of Namboku Records. He introduced me to James a few months back.
