The feeding of the 5000 is more than a single miraculous event because Jesus is more than a miracle worker. This event is a sign, a fulfillment, and a foreshadowing that reveals to us that Jesus is the Lord who gives rest, Jesus is the shepherd who is compassionate, and Jesus is the Creator who provides.
