In this passage, Colossians 1:15-18, we arrive at Paul’s quintessential argument in proving that Jesus is not only enough but is in fact pre-eminent over all things. Paul shows us that Jesus is pre-eminent over: 1. Creation 2. The Church

In a world where opinions abound, we must know what we believe as Christians. Being a woman of the Word is vital if you want to make a difference in your own life, in your family, and in your community.

The city of Ephesus was known for a beautiful and impressive pagan temple. Paul wrote to the Christians there and encouraged them to be built into God's spiritual temple and to let Christ be the cornerstone. 30 years later John pens a message from Jesus telling them to return back to their first love. We must make a decision as to how we view Christ : cornerstone, or stumbling stone?

As we continue to look at Paul's prayer for the Colossians, we see Paul's encouragement to live lives that produce good fruit and reminding us of the wonderful gift Jesus has given us.

This week we look at Colossians 1:3-8. Is Jesus enough to hope in?

Are you trying to run the race carrying weights and burdens? Let's remember what God wants for us : to run this race free, unstoppable, and unhindered. Let's lift our eyes to Jesus.

The start to a new series, "Is Jesus Enough", we examine the book of Collosians and how Paul responds to issues found in Collosae.

Mark 5 tells a story of a man possessed with a legion of demons. Jesus came and found him while he was still in darkness, calling him into the marvelous light and giving him a purpose to live for.

Following Jesus can cost you everything, but following the world will cost you your soul. In order to follow Jesus we must first understand who He really is.

Through faith in Jesus, we can overcome our offenses and no longer be overcome by them.

If we want to be a good neighbor, we must first know who our neighbors are.

The story of Zacchaeus shows us that Jesus came to seek and call the lost. After meeting Jesus and called by Jesus, Zacchaeus announces a very generous commitment to give away half his money and repay those he cheated times four. He acted this way because he had a new Lord, a new Master, and that was Jesus.

When Jesus arrived to Bethany, He found Mary and Martha grieving the death of their brother, Lazarus. Jesus showed that he was Lord over death and life and and had the ability and compassion to raise Lazarus from the dead. This tragic time was turned into a joyous time- and the Son of God was glorified through it.

John 11 tells us the story of how Lazarus, a friend of Jesus, becomes ill and dies. Jesus states that this illness doesn't end in death but to bring glory to God. Jesus works though the tragedy to bring glory to His name- and continues to do so today.

The Bible has many examples of people experiencing a defining moment in their life. John 8: 31-47 tells a story of Jesus revealing that He is the one that gives true freedom. Knowing that truth gives real freedom.

The writer of Psalm 130 cries out from the depths of the consequences and guilt of his sin. He has no hope in himself--his only hope is in a redeeming God.

How does knowing God as our provider transform our lives at work and at home?

In Psalm 126, the psalmist has experienced God's intervention in a way that has made him (and all of God's people) laugh for joy--but now laughter has been replaced with tears. How can we experience God as the restorer of our joy?

Psalm 121 is a Song of Ascent. It relates how God has been faithful and present in their troubles- protecting the psalmist. This Psalm should lead us to examine where we look in times of trouble or uncertainty. God is faithful and we should turn our eyes to Him.
