Today's show was a little more chill, a little less packed but triple the fun (because we talked to three people!) We started off the show with Serra's interview with Sandra Laronde, the executive and artistic director of Red Sky Performance. They talked about Red Sky's upcoming performance "More Than Dance, We Are a Movement" that's being presented within Digidance starting April 14th. We then continued with our shout-outs of the week. Today's episode was packed! We started with a shout-out to the artist talk for Inaction presented by the Richmond Art Gallery. We also talked about Inaction with the curator Shaun Dacey in a previous episode so if you want more info on it, make sure to give it a listen! Our second interview of the day was right after, with Katie Cassady about Made in BC's 2nd annual creative residency. We then continued with a review of United Players of Vancouver's "Silent Sky", followed up by a review of "Shine True" which is a Canadian-American documentary series that celebrates the trans and gender non-conforming community by helping them overcome dysphoria and anxiety, and getting them to a place where they can freely and finally present the way they feel. Today's episode had a good mix of content, we started with a shout-out. Shout-out to Stories of Kindness is an interview series that is focused on spreading kindness, connection, and storytelling through children. Inspiring youth from across Canada were selected to co-host the series and were paired for these important conversations with celebrity guests and it is premiering on March 27th! After the shout-out, we continued with a review of "Out of Order" which was followed by an interview with Don Keistah. We also played their new single "Dandy on the Liquor" which is also part their upcoming album that'll be released this summer! Today's episode had so many shout-outs! Shout-out to the annual Julboree Event is a music and art event organized on behalf of different charity organizations! Also shout-out to the Sonic Boom Festival features new music created by composers of British Columbia. The festival is rich in new and unique pieces by a variety of spectacular talent, all available online for free from March 23 – 28, 2021. This week we had three interviews and one review! We started off with an interview with Shaun Dacey about "Inaction", a new exhibition at the Richmond Art Gallery that comes to life with dance! The exhibition is up until April 3rd so you have some time to see it! We continued with a review of Studio58's TomorrowLove, and as Serra mentioned multiple times, she had nothing negative to say about it. Afterwards, we had an interview with Margaret Grenier about the Coastal Dance Festival which will be taking place fully online between March 12th and 18th! After Eva, Serra did her 2 reviews, both of which coincidentally have something to do with "The Scottish Play". Serra talked with musician and composer Elaine Jo who is hosting and interviewing different artists for Art Heals. After this interview we had Olivia's review of a short film called "Old Dog". This review was followed by the second interview of the day that Niko did with Paul Pearson about Lunatic Engine. The last portion of today's show was Serra's review and the shout-outs. The review was of Mary-Louise Albert: Solo Dances/Past into Present that is part of The Dance Centre's Global Dance Series. You can stream the dance show from December 3rd until the 17th, tickets are only 10 dollars! Our shout-outs to the Whistler Film Festival, they have over 89 films and it's all online! WFF will be held through the whole month of December! Second shout-out to Wajd-Songs of Separation. You can stream this film until December 9th and join their live Q&A on December 5th at 11 am.
