Paul tells Timothy to put out a command or charge and to teach it to the people. Then Paul address a problem that Timothy may have in doing this which is his age.

What is the meaning of the phrase trustworthy statement? We can take this statement into ourselves and find great benefit.

Paul tells Timothy that exercising for godliness is great gain. Not only now but also in eternity.

Do not give your time to fables. They are good for senile women. Discipline yourself for godliness.

A good servant of Christ will expose error and false teachers. In doing so you will be nourished in the word of faith and sound profitable doctrine.

Watch out for men who hinder marriage and promote the abstaining from foods. God created food to be good and to be shared with other believers.
