Paul knew that he would be delivered. He knew that he would be moving to a heavenly kingdom. People were on Paul's minds as he approached death.

The Apostle Paul is remembering his trial. What he says is very powerful. No one was with me, I was alone but the Lord was there. He strengthened me.

Why did Paul want his cloak, books and parchments? Why was Paul in the house of Carpus? Why did he leave his things behind?

Paul lists several men in these verses. One man, Demas had deserted Paul for this present age. The others were sent by Paul to others places. The only exception was Luke who cared for Paulin prison.

Paul knows that this is not the end. His life will continue. He will receive from Jesus a crown of righteousness.

Three objectives of Paul's life. Fight the good fight, finish the course and keep the faith.

What does Paul mean when he says he is a drink offering? Paul knew his time of departure was near. He saw it as departing and not dying.

The four last instruction from Paul to Timothy. Be sober, endure hardship, preach the gospel, fulfill your ministry

Teachers who teach just the things you like will turn you from the truth. The Word of God is truth and we need to receive all of it and not just what makes us feel good.

Some will want their ears tickled and will not put up with healthy doctrine. Their desires will lead them to teachers that please them.

We need to be ready at all times to do what God asks us to do. We need to bring correction in a spirit of love.

Preach the Word! That was Paul's last charge to Timothy and it is our charge today. Preach the Word!

Paul's third and last charge to Timothy. A very strong charge. Before God and Christ Jesus the judge of both the living and dead.

The word of God reproves us. It gives us a foundation. It corrects us. It trains us in righteousness. So we can be custom made and ready for every good work.

All scripture is God breathed. God breathed it into the lives of writers and they wrote it down for us. The Word of God is profitable for teaching.

What to do when evil men come. Continue in what you learned and believe. The importance of a grandmother and mother's faith.

Two types of men to expect. Evil men and impostors or sorcerers . They will deceive and are themselves deceived.

Persecution, why does it come? What happens in persecution? The Lord is with you.
