The conditions in Thessalonica were severe. They were being persecuted and someone wrote a letter claiming to be Paul that said Jesus had already come.

Background is needed in understanding what Paul is saying to the church in Thessalonica. When was it written? Where was it written from? Why was it written?

This is the conclusion of our devotions in first Thessalonians. Paul asks for prayer and shows his love for the church. Then desires that the grace of God is with them.

God is faithful. He will bring sanctification into our lives. He promised it and He will do it if we allow Him to do it.

God wants us to be completely holy, spirit, soul and body. When Jesus comes we will reach that point of holiness.

Paul describes God as the God of peace. He wants to work peace into our lives but we must allow Him. The verses that precede this one tells us what we must allow in our lives.,

We need to get away from any and all appearances of evil. This will keep us and others from sin.

We need to examine everything to see whether it is good or evil. The good we need to hold on to with all our might.

When Paul say to not quench the spirit. This is in reference to the prior 5 verses. Quenching means to out the fire out. we must not despise prophecy.

When we give thanks, we do not give thanks for everything rather we give thanks in or during everything. This is God's will for us.

How can we always be praying? Praying always is having our spirits in constant communication with God. We can do that 24 hours a day.

We rejoice always because our spirits are rejoicing. We need to allow our spirits to express themselves in our lives.

When a person treats us badly we should treat them with good. We should give them what they need to change, discipline, grace, teaching and if needed justice.

We need to encourage those who have lost their motivation to serve God and we need to hold up those who are weak in faith. Being patience with everyone is needed for a healthy church.

One of the greatest things we can do for our spiritual leaders is to live in peace with other believers. We also need to warn those who are out of order.

We need to love our spiritual leaders with an overflowing amount of love. This love is unconditional and will help them to minister to us.

Paul is asking the Thessalonians to honor their spiritual leaders. They work hard, influence their lives and teach them.

The teaching of Christ's return will encourage and built up others believers. We need to teaching and talking about it.

Because Christ died for us, we will be united with believers who have died and will be with Christ forever!

The church is not destine to any of the wrath of God. God's wrath will begin when the church is gone. We are destine to salvation of our whole being, spirit, soul and body.
