With the help of the Holy Spirit we guard the treasure that God has entrusted to us. This treasure is the call of God on our lives.

Retaining the outline or sketch of healthy teaching is needed in the church today. We seize it by faith and love that Jesus provides for us.

Being ashamed will destroy your testimony. Paul overcame the most dehumanizing condition by putting his faith in Jesus.

Jesus has already appeared to us. He completely made death useless and has brought us life and immortality. We can continue in our ministries because of that.

We can stand unashamed in persecution because we have salvation, past, present and future and because God continues to call us and lead us. His salvation and calling are with purpose and grace.

This is a powerful message for the times we are in. We do not need to be ashamed of testimony about Jesus. We need to suffer with the power of God working in us.

Is fear putting out the fiery gift that is in you. God has given you His Spirit to combat fear. It is the Spirit of power, of love and of making disciplined decisions.

Timothy had a fiery living gift on the inside of him. Paul is telling Timothy to bring that fire up or increase it. What gift has God given you to use? Does it need to be increased or brought up to a flame?

Paul tells us what will bring complete joy to those who long for us in the faith. It is a sincere, unhypocritical faith. The faith of timothy started with His grand mother and his mother. Faith flows through relationshps.

Relationships are so important in the Body of Christ. Paul tells Timothy how much Timothy means to him. He longs for Timothy, He remembers Timothy and Timothy fills Paul with Joy.

Paul serves God with a clear conscience. He prays for Timothy day and night. When we pray for others our hearts are connected to them and we will know their needs.

Paul tells us of his relationship with Timothy. Paul loves Timothy with a love that is unconditional. Paul also blesses Timothy with grace, mercy and peace which come from God.

Paul tells us who he is. He is an apostle because it was God's will. He also tells us that this calling came about because God had given him life both here on earth and in heaven.

Paul is writing his final letter. In the background of this book we see such passion. Paul wants Timothy to know that he has not quit, he still preaches the Gospel.

Paul closes the letter to Timothy by telling him to guard his ministry. We guard our ministries by staying away from sensual chatter, from meaningless conversations and so called knowledge that opposes the truth.

When we do good works and give generously we are putting things in a vault that will give us a foundation for the future no matter what happens.

Those who are rich should do good things, they should have an abundance of good works, they should be generous and also ready to give.

We can put our hope in God because He will abundantly cause us to have all that we dream of and desire.

Paul again instructs Timothy to teach those who are rich in this world. Why did Paul emphasize this? Because the lives of believers depended on it.

Jesus is immortal, He will never change. He lives in light that is impenetrable. Nothing can ever reach through and change of destroy Him. We honor Him, He has eternal dominion!
