There are two things that we are not to allow in the church or our lives. The first is being deceived with the wisdom of this age.

The temple that Paul is talking about is the church. God is the protector of the temple, the church. He will destroy anyone who tried to destroy the church.

Paul tells us that the only foundation is Jesus Christ. Some build with lasting materials and others build with materials that will be burned at the judgment

Paul talks about his ministry. He was given it by the grace of God. Paul says he wisely build a foundation and Apollos came and built on that foundation Each man is building the church by building their lives.

One plants, another waters but God gives the growth. Paul stresses that spiritual growth does not come from men but from God.

The Corinthian church had divided itself according to personalities instead being united in Christ. Some followed Paul and some Apollos. Paul and Apollos were not opposed to each other. They were on the same building team.

The Corinthians were not able to receive spiritual food because they were carnal. The two signs of carnality are jealousy and strife.

Paul tells the Corinthians that they are men of flesh. He tells them the they are spiritual babies. These were insults to these people who thought they were so spiritual. Paul told them that He could not even speak to them as spiritual but natural people.

The natural man does not accept the things of the spirit. He cannot understand them. The spiritual man judges everything but is not judged himself. We have the mind of Christ.

Paul is speaking the things that God has given to the Corinthians. It is the Spirit that combines spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. Paul is speaking spiritual words.

Our humans spirit knows our thoughts. The Holy Spirit is in our human spirit revealing God's thoughts so that we can freely know all that God has given us.

The Spirit of God searches everything. He searches our depths and He searches the thoughts of God. He reveals God to us. God is not hiding anything from us that we need to know.

Worship is spiritual warfare.

The demonic rulers did not understand what they were doing when they crucified Jesus. We do not understand all that God has planned for us. So we trust in His wisdom.

The third way that Paul came to the Corinthians was in the wisdom of God. The wisdom of God comes to the mature. Those who have walked with God. It is different than the wisdom of this age and the wisdom that comes from demonic rulers.

Paul came to Corinth weak, in fear and trembling. But he showed the people there the Spirit and God's power. So that their faith would lie in the power of God.

Paul tells how he first came to Corinth. He came not with superior speech or wisdom. He came proclaiming the testimony of God, preaching Jesus and Him crucified.
