This small verse packs a big punch. Love does not rejoice or find joy in unrighteousness. Unrighteousness enslaves and destroys a person. Truth sets a person free. We should find our joy in a person's freedom and not in their slavery.

Paul lists four things that love does not do. It does not act unbecomingly. It is not provoked. Loves does not seek its own. Love does not take into account of wrongs suffered.

Love does not brag. Bragging is self centered It always wants to talk about oneself. Love is not arrogant. Arrogance is also self centered but it is an attitude more than an action.

Paul tells us what love is. It is patient, it bears under the load of other people. It does not give up when things go wrong. Love is kind, it is benevolent to others without condition.

You can give everything to feed the poor and even become a martyr but if you do not have love you will gain nothing. Love is an attitude of your spirit. It is not an action.

If you have prophecy, know all mysteries, have all knowledge and faith and do not love each other you are nothing. It is love that makes you something in the Body of Christ.

The way of love is the more excellent way of being the Body of Christ. You can speak in tongues of men and angels and if you do not have love all you are doing is making a bunch of noise.

The members of the Body of Christ are not the same. We do not have the same function in the Body of Christ. That means we are all needed. We all have a place that is ours to operate in.

God appoints first apostles, prophets and teachers and then he appoints the other members to the Body of Christ. There first needs to be leadership and then the Body of Christ will operate as it should.

All of us will have times that we are weak and less honorable. That is why we as members of Christ's body need to care for one another. God made all of us interdependent upon each other.

Every believer is needed in the body of Christ. Those who are weaker are needed. Those who are less honorable should be given abundant honor. This will make them more presentable

Every person is needed to fill the position that God has made them to fulfill. They are unique and made for that position. When each believer is in position the Body of Christ is more effective.

Each member of the body of Christ is needed. They are needed in the position that the Holy Spirit put them in. We should never compare ourselves to some one else and want to be like them.

There is one Body and it is Christ's Body. There are many different members in that one Body. The Holy Spirit dunks or places each believer in the Body

The gift of the working or miracles is when God manifests His power over a situation . The gifts of healing is a plural gift. It is when God supernaturally heals various types of disease and illnesses. This gift begins instantly.

The gift of faith is a supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit that deposits faith into the heart of the believer It is different from the faith we live by. It comes instantly and only for a period of time.

These two gifts need to be used together. One person speaks in an unknown language and either they or another person interprets what has been said.

The gift of prophecy is different than foretelling the future. It is also different than the ministry office of a prophet. The gift of prophecy is supernaturally speaking the heart of God.

Each member of the body of Christ is needed. They are needed in the position that the Holy Spirit put them in. We should never compare ourselves to some one else and want to be like them.

The gift of discerning of spirits. There are four classification of spirits, evil, angelic, human and the Holy Spirit. The gifts of discerning of spirits tells us which are in operation.
