Morning Manna

Proverbs 14:34 says; “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

Hebrews 12:1–2: “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Let's talk about that race on today's Morning Manna.

Psalm 61:1–2 says; “Hear my cry, O God; / Attend to my prayer. / From the end of the earth I will cry to You, / When my heart is overwhelmed; / Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” In today's episode I share an experience I had yesterday about praying for someone. Why worry when we can pray?

Remember those commercials in the 80's and 90's... "I've fallen and I can't get up." Proverbs 24:16 says; “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.” We all fall at times but that doesn't make us a failure. Proverbs 30:32 says; “If you have been foolish in exalting yourself, or if you have devised evil, put your hand on your mouth.” Let's talk about the cover up on today's Morning Manna.

"At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light and the burden of my heart rolled away, It was there by faith I received my sight and now I am happy all the day." Today is Good Friday, the day Jesus laid down His life for us. Rejoice in the amazing sacrifice He made today!

Psalm 22 is a Messianic Psalm that describes how our Saviour Jesus felt as he approached His sacrifice for us on the cross. Listen and imagine this incredible love, grace and mercy He was giving to us. Enjoy this reading and have a blessed Maundy Thursday.

1 Thessalonians 2:12 says; “that you would have a walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.” God describes our life as a walk... a daily pattern of faith and purpose. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

I love what God said to Joshua in Joshua 13:1- “Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the LORD said to him: ‘You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed.’” I tell people that there is no such thing as retirement... you must always have purpose. Acts 4:12 says; "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” 1 Timothy 2:5 says; " For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus." Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." There is no other way to salvation but Jesus. ...And the walls came tumbling down! Let's talk about some lessons from the miracle of Jericho. Let's learn from this story and exercise our faith in God for whatever walls are towering over you.

In today's episode I share a verse that I pray over myself each morning... before my feet hit the floor - "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Ephesians 4:29. May each of us have a mouth full of grace today!

I love Psalm 119:105 - “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” God's Word gives us direction for our next steps. He doesn't give us high beam headlights but rather a lamp to our feet. Let His Word direct you today. Trust Him for what you can't see, because He can see it.

Are you ready for convicting verse today? 1 Samuel 16:7 - “But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’” How's your heart today?

Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, experienced difficult challenges in his life and ministy. Jeremiah 38:6 tells us... “So they took Jeremiah and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the king’s son, which was in the court of the prison, and they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire [mud]. So Jeremiah sank in the mire.” Let's talk about the mire we experience in our own lives.

All things work together for our good... seriously Lord? YES Lord! What a powerful and encouraging promise we have in Romans 8:28. Let's live it out today. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
