He explains that babies are born with very low cholesterol, and people with genetic mutations also have low cholesterol without negative effects. Studies show that lowering LDL to very low levels, even under 0.2 mmol/L, significantly reduces heart disease risk without increasing other health issues. Tests found no cognitive impacts of lowering LDL cholesterol levels using PCSK9 inhibitors. While statins may slightly increase diabetes risk, other cholesterollowering drugs do not appear to have this effect when lowering cholesterol alone.
