Looking at the table after the match, well it was easy wasn't it? Forest ended up six points clear of the drop zone, despite the PSR deduction, and hopefully this game will have helped to lay the ghost of Stoke to rest. On a day when Forest were confirmed as "all but safe", the Reds failed to rubber stamp their Premier League status as they conceded two late goals to money bags Chelsea. In truth, Forest didn't look like a worse team than their wealthy counterparts, until the subs were made, which strengthened the visitors and weakened the hosts. The key fact is that Forest lost a relegation six-pointer, to two long range goals. The underlying facts are that there were three clear penalty shouts waved away, including (at least) one where the ref clearly got it wrong but VAR chose not to correct him. The headlines go to the club's tweet on the full-time whistle, which accuses PGMOL of bias and suggests that the club will explore their options, whatever that means. It definitely felt like two points dropped, despite the Reds actually scoring from a corner, and fighting back from conceding a poor goal to take the lead. The old Achilles heel of set pieces hit us again as the defence failed to defend and the keeper could have done more. In the end, it was honours even and no-one was really happy. In reality, the best team won, although it was a match that seemed to hang on a series of incidents: Murillo's own goal, Chris Wood's miss, Maddison's punch and Spurs' half-time subs. A draw wasn't the result that we wanted, but was enough to pull the Reds out of the relegation zone on goal difference. It could have been so much worse as a tepid first half performance drew the ire of the fans, but the introduction of Gio Reyna on 60 minutes brought instant dividends, as the young American fed Morgan Gibbs-White, who in turn played it into the box where Chris Wood's clever header drew Forest level.
