Enduring Grace: 2 Timothy The Triune God Has Spoken 2 Timothy 3:10-17 1. The Triune God is the ultimate author of the Bible. The words in it are the words He wanted in it. 2. From each particular word in the Bible, to the Bible as a whole, and for every literary unit in between, the Bible is God's word written. 3. The Lord's plan is surprising and humbling - the main way to understand His word written is by the teaching and example of ordinary christians and the church. 4. Reading the Bible as the Triune God intended is a means of grace. Preaching and teaching the Bible as the Triune God intended is a means of grace.

Enduring Grace: 2 Timothy The Bad News About the Human Condition 2 Timothy 3:1-9 1. Life will always be difficult, so following Jesus and learning from Him as you walk with Him is wise. 2. The word of God brings you the bad news that the human condition is bent and disordered, so life is difficult. 3. Denying the truth of the human condition creates fertile soil for predators to prey on the weak and the vulnerable. 4. When you understand the bad news, you understand your need for the good news. 5. Teach and discipline to help people thrive in Christ, and to protect the weak and vulnerable.

Enduring Grace: 2 Timothy The Importance of Truth 2 Timothy 2:14-26 1. To become a Christian is to take the red pill. 2. The Lord created and launched a movement of truth and love that builds communities of truth and love for the glory of God and the good of people. 3. Since the truth matters, words and how you use them matters. 4. To know the truth about God, the world, and yourself is a moral quest. 5. Since people matter to God, people should matter to you. Therefore, seek to win the person for Christ, not the argument for your ego.

Out of his infinite love, the Father sent the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit, into His fallen creation, to turn the story of your life, from a tragedy to a comedy. Psalm 103:15-16 John 1:9-14.

Mark. 2:27-28. 3E. Jesus acted as only God can act to still the storm. Mark 4:39-41 3F. Under oath, Jesus claimed He would sit on God's throne. Mark 14:61-64 3G. Jesus accepted worship as He taught the truth of the Trinity. Matthew 28:17-20. 4. Only God can reveal Himself. Only God can provide the way to Himself.
