  • Meet Eric Ye, the Architects Medallion Winner for 2018

    Moments after being awarded the Architects Medallion at a ceremony held at the NSW Architects Registration Board, we sat down Eric Ye to talk about his ideas, aspirations and practice. The Architects Medallion has been awarded by the Board since 1924 to a graduate from a NSW school of architecture who has achieved distinction in their studies. Eric Ye is a graduate from the University of Technology Sydney, and he was awarded not just for his outcomes in design studio, but also for his leadership in the co-creation of the Post- publication, and his inclusive work as a tutor of architecture. On top of that, Eric has received numerous awards, and has featured at the Oslo Triennale. He currently works at Andrew Burges Architects and is a casual academic at UTS.

    On 1 September 2017, a new Architects Regulation went live after first inviting submissions from industry and other stakeholders earlier in the year. The new Regulations contain changes to how courses of architecture are accredited in NSW, how Board members are elected, and in the information that must be included in a written agreement prepared by an architect for their client.
