Tom Cochrane is based in Newfoundland, Canada, and is creating some amazing photos with his drone. Tom's background was in ground based photography and videography, but once he picked up his first drone he was hooked. When you check out Hover UAV's website, the first thing that you'll see and what immediately caught my eye, is shark footage captured by drone! How's that for an attention getter!

Ty Audronis is an established drone pilot, that has worked with Discovery Channel, and even worked on the Hurricane Harvey relief effort in Texas. Listen in as he describes how they were there to help during the disaster relief, and the steps that he and his team took to ensure that they didn't stress the already scarce resources in the disaster area. I can't stress enough how important this part of it is, as it may be tempting to race into an area to get some footage, but you need to think about the damage that you could be doing. Are you going to have enough food? Will you be taking food away from those that need it? How about fuel? How about water? Sometimes it's best to stay away unless you can truly make a difference and not just capture some fancy footage. Listen in to hear exactly how Ty and his crew accomplished this!

Kara Murphy was one of the lucky few to be able to fly sky high in the dead centre of San Francisco, and has captured some dynamite photos of the cityscape. I was referred to Jason and Blake from BoE systems by Ryan Murphy, who some of you may remember from podcast episode 5. Ryan has recently started working with BoE Systems and their drone LiDAR solution, and recommended getting them on the show to help spread their good word. Jason and Blake have developed an affordable drone LiDAR system, where subcontractors can lease their equipment rather than forking over the full price for a very expensive drone LiDAR system.
