Inspired by Jarrod Dyson, recent trade acquisition of the White Sox and 50th round draft pick, Jack and Jeremy take a look at some low round draft picks who made it to the majors...spoiler alert, there are not a lot of them! So the guys pivot to a discussion of some of their favorite trades. At the top of the show, the guys also recap some top moves from this year's deadline.

In light of the recent Mark Grace and Thom Brennaman low points for baseball broadcasters, Jack and Jeremy decide to look at the lighter side of the pastime's mic men with their own top 5 favorite announcer moments. Surely Hawk Harrelson, Vin Scully, and...Keith Hernandez (?) will make appearances. Rain Delay Theater History Class is back this week with 1960s Cincinnati Reds pitcher Jim Maloney - a guy who threw two no-hitters (three, kinda) and you've probably never heard about! But before that, Jeremy and Jack check-in with some current baseball news and stories, including the ongoing game cancellations of the Cardinals, the Ramon Laureano brawl, and what the hell happened to Bryce Harper?

The Rain Delay Boys are back at the ballpark…or at least as close to the ballpark as Major League Baseball will let them get. In a season when the pandemic is keeping fans out of the ballpark, Jack and Jeremy head out beyond the left field wall to the corner of Waveland and Kenmore and become ballhawks for the Cubs/Pirates game. The guys run into a few characters out in the streets including the infamous Mai Tai Guy! Plus, a few laps around the stadium create a few unwanted run-ins with some resident ballpark creatures. Tune into as close to an in-game experience as Rain Delay Theater may have this year!

You're watching a baseball game and a pinch hitter gets announced only to be called back and lost for the rest of the game, you think to yourself, "Man, there really should be a term for what happened to that guy". Well, Jack and Jeremy, joined by special guest Kevin Goggin, have your back, as they dedicate this episode to coming up with new terms for obscure baseball occurrences! The guys even take it one step further and coin a few new phrases for random ballgame attendee shenanigans. Michael Douglas, Megadeth, and the movie "Stay Tuned" are all somehow referenced in this raucous episode. As an added bonus, Jeremy recounts the shocking tale of the time his hitting prowess caused serious damage to his aunt's house. Tune in this week and expand your baseball vocabulary!

With the 2020 MLB season on the horizon, Jack and Jeremy come together to make their annual over/under picks for the year. The guys assess the upcoming year for Luis Robert, Pete Alonso, Cody Bellinger, Gerrit Cole, and more! Jack also finally sees The Last Dance! Over/under 0.5 hot takes from Jack (psst, take the over!).

This week Jack and Jeremy try to give a little primer for the return of baseball later this month. The guys check in on the state of the league, Summer Camps, players opting out, and what the season might look like, if it does happen… As we all await the return of baseball with cautious optimism, check out this week’s episode!

In honor of Father's Day, Jack and Jeremy share some of their favorite and lesser-known father/son combos. Before that, a slew of topics are covered including the announcement on Tuesday that plans for a 2020 season of baseball have been finalized. The guys also briefly recap the MLB draft and talk about a Marcus Stroman-related Twitter feud Jeremy became embroiled in on draft night.

In the second installment of Rain Delay Theater History Class, Jack introduces us to Dave McNally, sometimes overlooked pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles!

Jack and Jeremy are joined by special guest Zachary Greenwood (@zordulations on Soundcloud!) for the long-awaited, highly anticipated baseball card show! The guys dig out some old baseball cards and talk about random players, collecting as a kid, and possibly set up a contest to collect the best through-the-mail autographs? Zachary hosts the first ever edition of "Baseball Names" for the RDT boys. And we also hear about Zachary's experiences living in South Korea and attending KBO games in person! In the inaugural episode of Rain Delay Theater History Class, Jeremy enlightens us about the odd, eccentric hippie-ish Bill "Spaceman" Lee!

We have a fun one this week as Jack and Jeremy share with us some nicknames they coined for current players in the MLB. Oddly, there are a lot of middle relief pitchers on their hit list. Fans of the podcast who are starved for a classic Jeremy rant will be happy to hear his thoughts about the pizza guy from the Last Dance series on ESPN (7:39). We also hear a tribute to Fred Willard and an update on Jeremy's Topps Project 2020 riches.

Jack and Jeremy recap the first week of KBO baseball on ESPN, talk about some of the league's stars, and give their critique on ESPN's coverage. They also tackle the new Topps Project 2020 baseball art cards that are taking the card collecting world by storm. The guys next touch base on the ESPN doc series "The Last Dance" which recently aired it's episode covering Michael Jordan's time playing baseball. And finally, we get our first double installment preview of Rain Delay Theater History Class where Jack and Jeremy each present a player from baseball history for our edification. This week Jeremy presents Cleveland Indians fan-favorite Andre Thornton and Jack tackles The Cobra Dave Parker.

This week, Jack and Jeremy revisit an overlooked MLB year end award, the Comeback Player of the Year. The guys rank their top 5 Comeback Players of the Year and try to give a little backstory to what happened to them the preceding year that made them have to "comeback" in the first place. Also, the KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) is beginning this week and Jack and Jeremy run down a few former MLB players set to play in the league this year.

This week, the guys go into the past, all the way back to 1991, to recap a totally random White Sox @ Royals game from Youtube. It might be the shelter-in-place talking, but Jack and Jeremy find plenty to dissect here. The game features a young(er) Hawk Harrelson/Tom Paciorek announcing team, the recall of Sammy Sosa, and a seemingly obligatory George Brett scatological reference by Hawk and Wimpy. Jack and Jeremy return this week to conclude their look back to their shared baseball past, before the Rain Delay Theater podcast existed. The guys get into the White Sox chapter of their ballpark-going friendship and recount some stories that would lay the groundwork for the podcast as it exists today. They end the episode with a retelling of their Michigan baseball roadtrip to Lansing and Detroit filled with drunken antics, a fortuitous discovery in their rental car, and some good local food! We have a long one here folks, but, hey, you're social distancing, so what else do you have to do?!? Make sure to hang in there til the Michigan portion of the episode around the 1:21:10 mark.
