Rand's escape is foiled by orders to lock the gates of Fal Dara's keep. We speculate about where these orders originated. While Rand continues trying to find a way out, Suian will have spotted him.  She has the Talent of seeing Ta'veren.  She gives no sign that she knows who he is, though. Lanfear is tracking Rand. When runs into Mat, Perrin and Loial, and tries to drive them off for their own protection.  Egwene finds Rand and tries to hide him in the dungeons with Fain. We meet the Green man, an ancient Nym. Moiraine takes them into the cavern to see the eye. Rand wakes from the night in the ruins of the Towers of Malkier. Nynaeve and Lan are sad they can't be together. Egwene consoles Nynaeve.  Moiraine takes down the ward. Is she picking it apart? Or is it just untying a weave. Egwene and Nynaeve sense it.  The party heads into the Blight, and it erupts into activity.  Perrin goes full wolf brother, and hacks his way through. Lan is the ranger of the group, taking out beasts in the wilderness.  Worms of the blight show up and scare off everything else. The party runs right into the Eye of the World. Mat has been healed for the time being, but cannot be separated from the dagger. We talk about his lost memories, how they're filled back up, his luck, and how we think that works and came to be. We talk about a silent mutual understanding that passes between Loial and Moiraine, what wasn't said out loud, and how much of WhiteTower politics Loial already understands. A little on how Egwene and Rand constantly misunderstand each other and when the Tuatha'an learned the Treesinging songs from the Ogier. 'The Song' is likely a metaphor. Moiraine learns about the boys' dreams, and is visibly worried, although Perrin already has protection. Moiraine plans the party's next move, through the ways and past the horror of Machin Shin. Rand has sprinted all the way back to The Queens Blessing, which is still being watched by white cockaded street toughs. We talk about how domestic animals react to, and seem to be able to sense when the One Power is channeled, or maybe just the channelers themselves. Rand relays his story, Master Gil is in disbelief, but Loial has already come to a conclusion. Ta'veren make for good books after all... The Whitecloaks show up at the inn looking for Perrin and Egwene, but back away from the confrontation they've asked for. Moiraine and Lan arrive, with the Emond's Fielders in toe, and we see a cheerful reunion, although Mat is bed ridden, sick with the evil of Shadar Logoth. We talk more about how Darkfriends and Shadowspawn can sense the dagger. Rand is laying on the ground of the palace garden, with his head ringing. Elayne immediaetley has a crush on Rand, and Rand on her in return. We also get to meet a brand new, and large cast of characters, including Queen Morgase, Gareth Bryne, Elayne, Gawyn, Galad, Elaida Sedai, and more. The introduction and subsequent interrogation by Morgase and Elaida scares the hell out of Rand, and he barely makes it out of there with out ending up in prison. Elaida has an important foretelling that we talk about a bit. And unbeknownst to them, all of these newly introduced characters are likely now pulled snugly into Rand's Ta'veren web.
