With an extra person in our rag tag crew, we discuss the 1975 cult classic The Land That Time Forgot. But what IS in this forgotten land? Day of the Kaiju is a short film from 2014 by a young director named Kazuhiro Nakagawa. It follows a scientist tasked with figuring out if the body of a monster that has washed ashore is, in fact, as dead as it seems! The King of the Monsters has arrived! When most people think of giant monsters, it is Godzilla that comes to mind. His popularity spans the entire globe, and his filmography is vast, both in number of adventures, and quality. However, even the King had to start from somewhere. And today, we are discussing those beginnings. From the mind of director Ishiro Honda, to the hands of Eji Tsubaraya, to the body of Haruo Nakajima, the King of Kaiju was brought to life in this classic film.
