  • Just Listen: Marc Silber, What is Art?

    14/05/2015 Duration: 20s

What does photography sound like? Each episode of “Just Listen” features a single, instant photograph made with a Polaroid SX-70 and an audio file recorded at the same moment. As human beings we have learned to ignore or block out a tremendous amount of what surrounds us. Often times when I allow people to listen to my sound recordings they will respond by saying “I was there but didn’t hear any of that.” I’ve found that sound focuses my attention while video, or motion, acts to distract. Sometimes, when the sound is truly moving, I find myself with my eyes closed, focused and connected. Just listen and allow the sound to set you free.
