In true SG-1 fashion, the action climaxes with a showdown at the gate while the group tries to escape. However, the effort seems to be more difficult than expected as one group member seems to be working against them. Comically, the dice rolls are extremely fitting for the type of characters that were doing battle. Sometime the dice write a good story! Enjoy! We had a lot of fun with this episode, despite the mission and our rolls not going according to plan. In this episode we attempted to tackle the mechanics of a "Convince Encounter". Our horrible roles didn't allow things to go as smoothly as intended, although they made it highly entertaining as the group escapes a diplomatic crisis. Then, this group of newbies  also have to escape a crisis in the Gate Room, and end off-world  without a full mission briefing. What could go wrong? A new game style for us warrants some commentary, so that is exactly what we tackle in this episode. We discuss the pace of the game and some things we did not include in the basic format of the game. All in all, we enjoyed this play through and think some compelling stories were created, which sparked some conversation on the dynamics of our roleplaying group and how the session reminded us of previous campaigns and one-shots. As the group prepares a quick exit from the preserve (at least temporarily), one character attempts to tie up some "loose ends", while others enter unexpected negotiations about who should possess the canister. We complete the second round of negative memories for the rest of our patients in this episode. Death plays a major role in the stories of these characters. Some narrowly escape it, some inadvertently invite it in to their life, and for some we learn that it is a welcomed old friend. But no matter the role, all these stories have become tragedy. In this commentary episode, we discuss the dichotomy in the events that have taken place at the animal preserve so far. While there has been some major headway made toward reaching the goals the the preserve had promised, the group continues to discover new ways to add inter-personal drama and tension. This time around we see how the patients do not always remember the events clearly, but what might seem like absurdity in the details, might actually be how things panned out.
