Escape from a lab, a long dark hallway, disappearing dwarves, a room full of body bags, an armory raid, and approaching footsteps... With a fearless duo reunited, they square off against a Council Member. Elemental powers fly around everywhere, and it appears that the end is near for one character. Luckily, there is a way that the rest of the group can connect from afar. But will they be lucky enough to reach them in time? The adventure begins mid-mission. But none of the characters have any clue of where they are, how they got there, or what they can do, let alone what they are actually supposed to do. Just as they start to make some head-way, gaining vital info and an objective, one character makes a poor choice and things are bound to get ugly. We play some musical chairs for this one-shot and switch seats. Jeremy ends up in the driver's seat as the GM for one of his favorite systems, Shadowrun. Well, this Space Station adventure definitely had an unexpected and controversial ending. So much so that we rolled right into commentary on the system, and how much our preconceived notions on science fiction influenced our decision making. Halfway through the final season of the campaign, things are really ramping up. We compare the plot twists to previous campaigns and we spend quite a bit of time talking about a pivotal scene that highlights a lot of the characters growth... and Oreo cookies. Third time's a charm. We figure out how to finish Jungle adventure, but not without trying some creative, but unsuccessful options. Not a perfect score for the game, but not bad. A couple characters spring into action with some quick-witted and unexpected counters of their own, but they trigger a dire consequence for one character in particular. We start off on our 2nd life for this adventure, after a player couldn't resist doing something just to see what would happen. Things start heating up in this episode, literally, with a Dead-drop recon mission, and a bunch of little Kaiju (nicknamed Kaijlettes) that just won't drop-dead as they are told to. Here's a different kind of role playing game from a familiar game designer, Jared A. Sorenson. This game plays like an old style, text-based computer game, so the cast will have to work together to beat the story before they run out of lives, or chances to save the game. A Kaiju in the city, a cryptic radio message, and a decision to split the party; those are the ingredients for what we hope is a recipe for success. The story concludes with a shootout in a swanky hotel penthouse. As the damage is dealt from both sides, will the y make it out with Santa's bag of goods? One character thinks the task is easy and tries to keep his cool... however, the calm and collected intentions are merely that... intentions. "No more carrying bodies." So the group waits for Jerr to regain consciousness. Before waking up Jerr has a vision and seems to make a big connection with his elemental, opening the floodgates to new found strength. We're sure this will come back to bite the characters in the batt later in the season though.
