Episode 75: The Dentist Who Went to Jail for Healthcare Fraud
22/11/2016 Duration: 01h19minVisit royshelburne.com for more information! From Roy, himself: Most dentists live in fear of litigation but few worry about going to prison. Nonetheless, I went to prison on August 20, 2008 and was released on May 14, 2010. If you'd like, take a deep breath, hold on, and take a ride with me through a health care providers worst nightmare. Take heart....there are ways to prevent what happened to me from happening to you. Born in Pennington Gap, VA, I was "raised" on a farm in rural southwest Virginia. Growing up there I learned to love the people and the scenery of the Appalachian Mountains. The second of 4 boys born to a High School agriculture teacher and a registered nurse, working on the farm instilled the importance of hard work. I'm deeply thankful to my parents for the example they set for me. I graduated from Pennington High School in 1973, with honors, and was accepted and enrolled at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville the fall semester of that same year. I was a 1977 graduate of the Univers

15/11/2016 Duration: 01h01minWhen someone moves to a new area... they need to find a dentist, especially for their families. Well, where do they start? How do they make their choice? What sort of seemingly little things are being overlooked when it comes to marketing in the information age? Justin and Gabe are out of town for this one, so Jeff is at the helm with a good friend of his, Thomas Golden, who is a big fan of the podcast, despite not being a dentist. He knows as much about dentistry as Jeff does, so this should be interesting! Thomas is a Navy veteran with three kids and a loving wife who have followed him around the country from city to city. He has had his fair share of dental experiences, which makes him a perfect guest for our podcast! We've never quite had just a patient on the show. Usually we have the doctors, the mentors, the scientists, the educators, the marketers, the business managers... but never just a patient to give us some insight. Take it as you will... if you don't get anything from it, hopefully you w

They were straightforward and simple goals, but in my 25 + years of practicing, I had not found a program that addressed these areas and gave me specific tools and real strategies for accomplishing each. Probably like you, I had attended my share of CE courses. You know, the ones that sound and look great, but in t
