Defeating The [dc Sports] Curse

*Pete from Philly joins the show as the boys are yucking it up after another Commanders loss.... they continue to sink further into irrelevance and the culture talk is making everyone sick these days... thats the culture of the team... Irrelevant. Dolphins are rolling as are the 49ers and while the NBA season is ongoing there is not much to talk about on the court… BUT…. what is Mark Cuban doing?

The boys are back after the (best) holiday break to discuss the loss to the cowboys, the firing of JDR, the potential for new GMs and HCs to be considered and take a general look around the league as the best teams are miles better than the good teams and a few are back from the dead (Broncos?). Plus, how SI used AI to trick its readers.... and will the wiz rebuild faster than the commanders?

The boys are struggling to come up with a #Commanders thanksgiving list beyond ownership change, the team looks terrible vs the Giants, Ron and JDR still employed, and Sam is regressing... yuck. Angel suspended, Ovi surging, Jordan Poole is already turning heel in DC, and Dana White inspires the boys with his 86 hour liquid fast. Happy Thanksgiving!

Miss a FG early, get players ejected, penalties late, and lack of clock management ... welcome to Washington Football. Ron was out coached by someone double his age but the Commanders COULD have pulled out a win... instead, it's a loss and the season is likely over. Sam is growing, future may be bright, but right now, the sting is real.

The boys are locked in after a road win in New England brings the Commanders back into the playoff picture. While there were a few stinker games (ravens) there was also a few surprising ones too (vikings).... "Dobbs is crazy good for a below average QB" + Clay Travis a 100% correct, a good HS Boys team would destroy the WNBA's ACEs in a game, or a series. (No, we don't want Ron or Billy B here in DC next season!)

The Washington Commanders rebuild has started. Tez and Sweat both traded. Listen in to FP and LP disect the trade. 

How do you handle Halloween as an adult? Death on the ice in England (super sad situation), the UFC/Boxing obsession grows for one show cast-member + Commanders jump out to a lead but fail to beat the Eagles... again! The NFL top 5 and low 5 are here to close out week seven and Stevie helps us get ready for game three of the world series which has been shockingly eventful even though nobody is watching!

FP and Joe are in studio discussing the fiery furnace that is currently Coach Ron's seat and what can be done to turn it down a tad. They took around the league on a week full of upset wins and while the NHL and NBA seasons are getting rolling the baseball season is almost at its final matchup with one matchup NOBODY wants to see looming large.

The boys are hot. The Commanders, Football Team, Redskins... doesn't matter... when they should win the regularly lose! Offense was flat, defense was leaky, special teams failed (less a crucial recovery)... but why can't this team find it's groove early on. The longest seven minutes... 

The boys recap the full slate of NFL games including the Commanders win in ATL to improve to 3-3... reminder, they beat nobody as FP says. The NFL is basically a bunch of .500 teams, the CAPS are back on the ice, and Bryce homers on his birthday... do we cheer or never/ever cheer?

Commanders slip in the power rankings but given cooler heads have come forth since the Bears loss the boys are enthralled with playoff baseball. Bryce did Bryce things in ATL while the Diamondbacks may be demonstrating why the new playoff model is flawed with favorite teams losing! +ESPN will roll out "FROZEN FRENZY" on opening night as we see the Red-Zone-ification of sports continue from NFL to GoalRush and now Frozen Frenzy can the NBA do something similar and would anyone care? The boys are hot after an absolutely embarrassing lose at home in primetime... tell us a new story! Nothing ever changes for the fans of this terrible football team. Coaches grade out at an F but frankly so should everyone else... there are no positive take-aways when you lose to the worst team in the league and look terrible doing it! How do you lose to a QB that creates 15 passes, eight of which are to ONE wide receiver!? Burn it all down! 

The boys are in studio to recap the Commanders win/lose vs the Eagles... scoreboard says one thing, eyes say another + a look around the NFC East with Pete from Philly, updated power rankings... where do the vikings/patriots/broncos slot in, and a little baseball discussion as well which highlights what we already knew... baseball Joe knows nothing!

The Commanders fall to 2-1 with a tough matchup against Philly coming up next. The Broncos lose in a way that may never be replicated. Jimmy G, the other one, is still in the league catching touchdowns (how!?), and what do we make of Russell Brand and Dave Portnoy news over the past week... tune in and get caught up!

The Commanders went into Mile High and looked to be on the business end of a loss before turning things around in the second half and pulling out an improbably victory. Chase returned to action and looked great! Sam and the offense looked confident... and the coaches looked flexible and focused! The Broncos looked bad but not worse than the Bears. The Cowboys still look scary but the Bills look beatable as we head into week 3. Join us to break it all down and relive a wild week 2!

So much to recap after week one of the 2023 NFL season. The Commanders started off with a win but they left us asking so.many.questions! Rodgers is likely done, might the Jets trade for Jacoby? or Heinicke? Philips? Ryan? ... who knows but they are toast. Bills, Bengals, Chiefs all looked terrible, which is most likely to recover? Finally the top 5 and low 5 teams in the league... 49ers and Cowboys maybe Jags... who else? Tune in and find out! 

The Washington Commanders officially have a new owner, Josh Harris and group have bought the team for $6.05 Billion. The vote is in and the papers are signed tomorrow. LP and FP are excited and so is ALL OF THE DMV. LET'S GO COMMANDERS. Hail to the Redskins

It's been a long winter but the night is darkest before the dawn. We are potentially just days away from the end of the Synder in DC and Joe and FP still think its not going to happen... plus Ron is terribly overrated according to Joe and why FP thinks the defense is closer to good than bad. The boys also talk about other DC sports happenings and set the stage for a revival. 

Eric Beinemy has been hired as Ron's Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. Join LP and FP as they react to the hire. Could it be anything other than an  A+? Given all the names rumored it was absolutely the best case scenario. Why would EB want to come to DC? Could it be a really good shot? And work under a coach who is similar to Andy Reid? What about the other QBs this offseason, where are they going to go? Daniel Jones, Derek Carr, Aaron Rodgers, Zach Wilson all discussed with a little bit of XFL in there too. The beer snake is awesome!
