Friends, welcome to Season 3 of All Night with the Living Geeks! Yes, this month we start our third year of the podcast and we're planning on a year-long theme: From the Pages! Each month, we're going to dig into old magazines, newsletters, and journals to hopefully find obscure stories that other podcasts aren't covering! This month we have The Marshall Monster and The Apple Valley UFO. Both cases are crazy strange and we dig a little deeper to see just how much of each tale is true.

This time around, friends, we wrap up Season 10 of Classic Who with a look at The Green Death! That's right, the Doctor and Jo return to Earth just in time to take on a whole lot of craziness at a mine in Wales! The Doctor also makes that long-awaited trip to Metebelis III and that becomes one of the funniest parts of the whole serial! But all good things must come to an end as Jo chooses to depart at the end and we're hit with one of the more (if not most) emotional scenes in recent memory.

This time we continue our trek through Season 10 with Planet of the Daleks! It's basically the second half of the planned 12-parter with Frontier in Space, but this time instead of political intrigue and The Master, we get a whole lot of Daleks, a planet that can't decide if it's a jungle or a frozen wasteland (ice volcanoes, really...), invisible natives, and the return of the Thals who've now started spaceflight! The pacing is pretty good, Jo is (again) amazing, and there's a fair bit to enjoy with Planet of the Daleks!

Happy New Year, friends! We're starting off 2023 with a six-parter that was almost a 12-parter that could have probably been told better in four parts. Yep, it's Frontier in Space! We've got Earth-Draconian tensions at an all-time high, Ogrons working for The Master who is ultimately working for the Daleks, plus there's a big random orange blob! It's all sorts of craziness...and did we mention there's lots of time spent in jail cells?

Happy 2023, everyone! That's right, we're transitioning into a new year tonight, but what about23 years ago when everyone was worried the world would collapse as the calendar ticked over from 1999 to 2000? This month, we look back at Art Bell's last open lines predictions show of the 20th century. What did people figure would happen in the year 2000? Could anyone win his $100 name those songs challenge?

Drugs are bad, mmmkay? That's right, friends, we close out 2022 with an absolute goofball of a story with NIGHTMARE OF EDEN! What happens to your story with an anti-drug message when the director quits part way through principal photography? Well, you get a story much like this. It's not a complete disaster by any means and we're able to cherry pick the best parts. And on a programming note, we're going to take the Christmas holiday off and will be back with our next ep right at the start of 2023! Thanks so much for listening this year.

Standing at a commanding 14,149ft, California’s Mount Shasta towers over the surrounding towns in Siskiyou county. It’s a destination for hikers, campers, and skiers alike. However, its lenticular clouds and unusual history at the southern end of the Cascade Range make it a destination for a whole different crowd. Hippies, spiritualists, and other New-Agers flock to Mount Shasta given its weird history amongst people in those circles. This month, we’ll take a look at Shasta…some of its history, some more recent events in the area, and even some of our own experiences with the mountain.

We love a good animation (and decry the fact that this appears to be the last one, unless maybe Disney is going to inject some cash that way...please!) and The Abominable Snowmen looks gorgeous! There is lots to like in this story, even though we felt it probably could have been told in four episodes. So grab your parka and pay respects at the monastery because it's time to go after The Abominable Snowmen!

Well, we've been saying for a while that we've wanted to watch that other Peter Cushing Dr. Who film and, friends, that time is now! DALEKS' INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D. (note the lack of articles and prepositions, please). This is a fun ride! For as goofy and weird as these Dr. Who movies were, there's a lot of action, some incredible stunts, and (spoilers!) we give it a perfect 10 on our Duggan Scale! Join us as we take a look way back to 1966 with Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D.!

Well, friends, we've all had a week to rewatch and process our feelings about The Power of The Doctor (as well as all the news that dropped right after that aired)! This time we're going to spend quite a bit looking at this adventure, what it means to us, how well it caps off the Chibnall era & Jodie's run, and also talk a bit about what the future holds (and also gripe a little about how long it'll be before we have some new Doctor Who on the telly again).

Well, folks, we made it. Three months worth of looking at and exploring the Hellier documentary and the case surrounding it has brought us here. This month, we look at the last half of Season 2: from The Altar through Night of Pan. If things had been weird before, they ramp up even more as we get blue star-ry eyed because things keep falling in our path. Join us, please, as we dive down the rabbit hole again and find the vast cave system underneath.

This time around we look at Asylum of the Daleks in which Amy & Rory are on the rocks, The Doctor is somehow both the predator of the Daleks & their temporary savior, and we meet Oswin who's currently working on her own series for Food Network, but it's not going so well. How long are you supposed to "stir" those "eggs" again? And will no one think of the milk!? We also talk about the trailer (finally!) for The Power of the Doctor as well as the super exciting Gallifrey One news!

This month we reach the halfway point in our three-part look at the Hellier case (so far!). In the first half of the second season, we grapple with a less linear storytelling technique as we follow the team through the research and experiences they had between wrapping filming on season one and actually releasing season one! If you thought they were just sitting back and relaxing, you'd be wrong! We also dive pretty heavily on some insane cipher hits that really drive home the bizarre reality of all this. By the way, there's a better Secret Cipher link in the show notes, so be sure to check that out!

LONDON 1984! Apparently a bleak hellscape in which the Daleks have a team of mercenary human clones (with helmets we're surprised didn't become a marketing opportunity) working to unearth Davros while also infiltrating various areas of human culture. See, there's a lot happening in Resurrection of the Daleks, but instead of anything getting resurrected, lots (and lots) of characters get gunned down...often for no reason. This is an unusual Doctor Who story if only for that fact, but it's one we'd have to review eventually!

Well, this time we finally can mark Season 18 off our checklist (because we reviewed Logopolis a while ago...go check it out) with The Keeper of Traken! If reviewing almost a whole season in one stretch has shown us anything, it's that this season was fraught with issues. But they still put out some good stories (and ultimately gave Tom a satisfying send off). The Keeper of Traken had to not only further the season, but also introduce what would become a new companion and also reintroduce The Master. There are some stumbles, but they mostly stick the landing.

Our fellow weirdos, we have arrived!! And a day early, too! After months of preparation and laying out much of the background information needed to comprehend events, we're finally starting our review of Hellier! In this first part (of three) we look at the first five parts (so, all of Season 1). We dive into the aspects of the case that resonated most with us, dig a little deeper in some instances, and just enjoy the absolutely high strangeness of it all! Welcome, at long last, to Hellier!

This time we round out the E-Space Trilogy and nearly all of Season 18 with Warrior's Gate! While we're not over the moon about this particular story, there are definitely reasons why this one suffered a bit during production. We can see where they were headed, but they don't quite get there. Plus, we really wish Romana & K9 got more of a goodbye than they did. As always, however, we try to find the best parts and this time we have to admit that Adric has a pretty impressive move! What was it? You've got to listen to find out!

State of Decay may seem like another chance for the BBC to pull out its Shakespearean era costumes and give them some exercise, but the story (a Terrence Dicks classic) has a rich tapestry behind it that not only expands Gallifreyan lore, but also gives justification for the tropey vampire acting in this story! I mean, a race of ancient giant vampires vs. the Time Lords...like how has Big Finish not done a boxset on this yet? Anyway, we loved State of Decay (despite the many production challenges it had) and we think you will, too!

Our #RoadToHellier has reached it's last stop before we get to town! This month, we're looking at the various methods of communication that you'll see employed in the documentary, plus a little extra we just find interesting. From the Estes Method to the God Helmet to the Frank's Box and back again, we're exploring the hows and some of the whys behind reaching out and connecting with the Phenomena.

Well, they can't all be stellar, but we always try to find the elements we like best in a Doctor Who story. That's the case with the opener to the E-Space Trilogy, Full Circle! Not only are we introduced to Adric, but we meet his brother (who definitely has some Oasis vibes), we peruse some binders, and we kind of wonder what tastes so odd in this fruit! Someone find the pilot and strap in because it's time to talk about Full Circle!
