It’s time to take a trip back to the mid-noughties and one of those TV-show-movie-spin-offs that is full of big cameos, big laughs, and weirdly unknown beyond those that are aware of the original show, or the Quibi reboot from 2020. It’s the first in-person recording since March 2020, and Andrew has made Johnny a red velvet cake, they taste it on-air! Johnny rates the Venom Burger from a promo event, whilst Andrew demonstrates a pitch-perfect Kristen Stewart As Princess Diana impression.

Layna/Ruke is no more, and it’s Wheels Up on Luke’s party-time angerfest, but more importantly Jeff Fordham, the bean counter from Harvard, is dealing with covering up an attempted suicide and a party gone wrong, whilst Will Lexington has to play the gay card on his recently-drowning wife to get the most sympathy from her on the hospital bed. That’s Johnny’s favourite character, and now we know why…

We’re tuning in to the most shocking of disk jockeys for a biographical picture episode regarding that old rapscallion Howard Stern, and this of course means the return of beloved guest Paul Giamatti to discuss Jungle Cruise and the name “Pig Vomit”.

It’s mid-season fi-party time and Johnny is taking Andrew track-by-track through the season’s first half in songs. Chill out, relax, we’re putting on a playlist, chatting about an art neither of us are fungible with and engaging in the fact that Charles Esten wrote and performed one song on this album and that’s far too few for any good human.

Vin Diesel returns to the podcast to talk guns and ships, and so the balance shifts. We’re ending Robin Hood Month with the Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn action adventure with Tim Minchin, which Johnny is most excited about, but will the Bono’s Daughter-starring film win the hearts of the podcasters, or is it more rich-robbing than poor-giving?

It’s Winterville Nashfest in Season 3 Episode 9 of the show, and Juliette is stalking Avery, Will and Layla are trying to avoid reality TV stans, Zoe is leaving ZAG, Scarlett is forcing a homeless man to dance for a crowd, and Rayna & Luke (Layna? Ruke?) are recording their charity TV Christmas special, which sounds absolutely wonderful and not at all cringe-worthy. What larks the herald angels will sing upon this week’s Nashville outing?

You know it’s true, everything we do, we do it for Alan Rickman impressions. It’s time for the Kevin Costner-but-really-Alan-Rickman Robin Hood adventure, where scenery is chewed, the f-word is used and explosions occur. What will Johnny make of a 2+ hour film with no archery contest? Will anything be able to bring him into the fun of the legend of Robin Hood or is this month a lost cause?

It’s the Country Music Awards and everyone in Nashville has some claim to stake, but more importantly a storyline about a missing child brings Andrew and Johnny to open up about tales from their own pasts in this very funny, hopeful episode

Second go around with the legend of Robin Hood and this time it’s Disney’s crime to answer for, stealing from The Jungle Book to give to the poor, animation-wise. We take a dive into the formation of furries, and other cultures over the recent generations, discuss who could voice the live action-ish redux, and if Robin Hood is capable of being a cinematic adventure at any point.

In a horny episode of the podcast, Andrew thirsts for Daddy Gunnar, Johnny examines the wonder of Scarlett helping Terry, and best friend Colt makes out with Maddie to get on the cover of Rolling Stone. Also examined: the pre-release festival cycle of Juliette Barnes’ new biopic.

Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland star in this very early take on the cinematic legacy of Robin Hood, as we begin a month of Robin Hood films. Andrew reminisces on his time in college, Johnny talks Irish cinema experiences, trips to Wales for Gavin And Stacey locales, and a lot is made of Flynn’s life and… terrible terrible deeds. Also, I guess, something about taking from the rich and giving to the poor.

Gunnar’s got a kid, Juliette’s in the hospital, Deacon’s written a song and Maddie’s making out with her soon-to-be step-brother. Nashville is a very normal drama where humans are coping with life and music through actively discussing their problems and finding reasonable solutions.

Halloween Kills Ends and we’ve saved the scariest for last, a documentary on creepypasta, the legacy of virality, child trauma, a rise in clown hauntings just before the world fell apart, and the serious work that goes into being a funny, kind, hopeful clown performing artist. We bring positivity and hope into a world feeling low and broken, and wave adieu to scary clown halloween.

Johnny’s birthday celebration this year means he’s watching Steven Spielberg’s 2004 comedy drama The Terminal, with Andrew in tow for fun and games.
