Happy New Year, everybody!!! FYC is glad to be back from the holidays and bringing you a brand-new hour-long show spotlighting our favourite film picks for 2017! Join hosts Dustin and Mike as they discuss the movies that really caught their attention this past year and take a few moments to reflect back on 2017 for the podcast since we are also celebrating our second anniversary this month. It's a short one for FYC this week as Dustin returns to discuss a truly terrible film that he has watched so that you don't have to. Christmas is the theme for this episode of ICYWC... and we have a seasonal stinker in the form of 2013's Krampus: The Christmas Devil. This week on FyC hosts Dustin and Mike take a deep dive on James Cameron's 1997 romantic disasterpiece, Titanic. Today marks the 20th anniversary of the American theatrical release of the film and we decided to commemorate the occasion by discussing the film on the podcast. Will we sink Titanic like an iceberg or deem it a masterpiece like so many prepubescent teens in the late '90s before us? You'll have to listen to the show to find out.

Continue FYC's epic journey through Middle-Earth as hosts Mike and Dustin welcome back guest commentator, Cat McDonald, to discuss the second in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Two Towers. Picking up from where they left off on the Fellowship episode, the roundtable takes a deep dive on Peter Jackson's sophomore Tolkien piece pointing out things they thought worked, things that didn't work, and things that kind of surprised them about the film and their reactions to it overall. 

It's all about different perspectives on this week's episode of FYC as hosts Dustin and Mike tell their versions of how they reacted to Akira Kurosawa's 1950 classic whodunnit, Rashomon. Check out the conversation to find out whether the film will be deemed a masterpiece or a museum piece.

Dustin and Mike celebrate FYC's landmark 50th episode with yet another anniversary, this time with Steven Spielberg's first contact classic, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The film, which turns 40 this month, was incredibly well received back in '77 and has been a film that the filmmaker has revisited and recut more than once! As is our tradition, we watched the original theatrical cut of the film which provoked some lively discussion at the roundtable and surprised both of us with how we ultimately judged it. Curious? FYC's Starship Troopers celebration comes to a satisfying conclusion with an episode covering the second animated, and final, entry into the franchise, Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars! Join Dustin and Mike as they take one last deep dive into the Troopers universe, bring their combined film analysis skills to bear on a movie most critics probably wouldn't expend the energy on (even though they should), and attempt to answer the question: what does Snapp know, and when did she know it? Also, because we're doing our part, this week's episode also features a quick take on the Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles animated series from the 1999-2000 season. Starship Troopers' 20th anniversary continues on FYC with our analysis on the first of the two animated features, 2012's Starship Troopers: Invasion! Welcome to week four of FYC's second annual October Fright Fest Spooktacular! Closing out the compare and contrast series of reviews this year is Mike and Dustin's discussion of the 2008 french extremist film, Martyrs, and its 2015 Hollywood remake of the same name. These movies brought out a lot of feelings so brace yourselves, it's an extra long episode of the podcast. Trust us, however, when we say we saved the very best for last. 

FYC's Octotber Fright Fest Spooktacular continues with its third week of comparing and contrasting foreign horror films with their Hollywood counterparts. This week puts the spotlight on the the 2003 Korean supernatural thriller, A Tale Of Two Sisters, and the 2009 American remake, The Uninvited. Check out the episode to hear Mike and Dustin take a deep dive on these two films to determine whether or not the newer film can hold its own against the original.

FYC's second annual October Fright Fest Spooktacular continues with our second of four foreign horror classics and its Hollywood remake. This week we are featuring the 2008 Swedish vampire film, Let The Right One In, and the Matt Reaves directed 2010 remake, Let Me In. Some have argued that the two movies are virtually shot-for-shot siblings, others look at them as distant cousins. What do we think? Welcome one and all to FYC's second annual October Fright Fest Spooktacular where, throughout the entire month of October, we spotlight that most underappreciated of genres, horror. This year we are featuring four foreign horror films and comparing them with their Hollywood remakes for better or for worse. On this first installment of the Spooktacular, Mike and Dustin tackle the Spanish found-footage film, REC, and its American counterpart, Quarantine. We are debuting a brand-new show to our stable of film commentary programs with FYC Conversations! Conversations is a new interview focused podcast where regular FYC host Mike Jozic will be speaking with various industry professionals to get a behind-the-scenes look at their process and contributions to the films and film-related things we love. On this inaugural episode, Mike speaks with prolific sci-fi and fantasy author, Alan Dean Foster, who is equally well known for his many novelizations over the years including the original Star Wars, the Alien series, and many more.

Dustin Friesenhan returns to warn you off even more terrible films in another FYC microcast of In Case You Were Considering...! This week listeners will get a double-feature caution as Dustin discusses Tom Six' infamous 2011 and 2015 body horror films, The Human Centipede 2 and The Human Centipede 3.

This week on FYC we are featuring another Redux episode of the show showcasing the 1933 Marx Brothers comedy classic, Duck Soup. The episode, which has been re-edited and tweaked, was originally our tenth episode of the podcast having been released on April 3rd, 2016. A fun conversation between Mike and Dustin about a hilarious romp of a movie.
