The Advent Season has long been the gathering place for friends, family, and time spent with loved ones celebrating the birth of our Saviour. Somewhere along the way, our culture has become busy and we have lost site of our true longing and anticipation of what is to come. Instead of focusing on Jesus, our thoughts and actions are consumed with meal planning, presents & pageants. Instead of Jesus and His birth maintaining a prominent place in our homes, Christmas has become the place of our fabricated traditions. Let's set aside our own needs, and reclaim this season for Jesus and His hope and light in our lives.

The book of Philemon consists of only one chapter–which is a prison epistle from Paul, written to Philemon. This letter is a plea, to request forgiveness for his runaway servant Onesimus, who was a new believer in Christ. Through Paul’s letter to Philemon, we discover his love for the church, his love for reconciliation and how he graciously handles a difficult situation. Using Paul as an example, Philemon displays how the gospel can accelerate the restoration process and the difference it makes in our hearts and our relationships, especially relationships in which we’ve been wronged.
