Shorts Cast is here to tell the story behind the beer and characters of Shorts Brewing Company. Shorts began as a brew pub in Bellaire, Michigan in 2004 and has grown to be one of the largest breweries in the great state of Michigan. The show is recorded from the brew pub in Bellaire, or the bottling facility in Elk Rapids.     Happy (late) St. Patrick's Day Short's Cast listeners. We hope you enjoyed a Moher Stout, sported some green, and enjoyed St. Patrick's Day with friends and family. We did just that last week at 7 Monks Taproom where Bridgett and Gillian sat down with Jason Kasdorf, the GM of 7 Monks, as well as some Short's family members who went under the razor at the St. Baldrick's event which took place on March 14th, 2015. Curt Guntzviller, Josh Lockman, and Gerard Knoph join the show to talk about the 4th annual St. Baldrick's event where over 47 participants raised over $50,000.00 for cancer research in children.  A huge congratulations to 7 Monks who beat their goal by $15,000.00!     Short's Cast finally devotes and episode to the FOOD! This week we're sharing the stories behind some of our favorite pub grub, like the White Pepper, Flutes of Chi, and many more. Bridgett Beckwith and Jon Wojtowicz sit down with the people behind the food, Mark MacNaughton, Erin Kuethe, and Luke Meredith, who join the show to talk about kitchen life and how things in the kitchen will continue to evolve over the next couple of months with the new expansion.     We're headed into the woods of Traverse City to talk about this years Suds and Snow Festival at Timber Ridge Resort. This is the 9th Annual Suds and Snow and Short's has been a part of this festival since the beginning. Bridgett and Gillian sit down with David Truax and Sarah Bozarth, two crucial members of the Festival and Events team. They are just returning for the Winter Beer Fest in Grand Rapids so they've got this winter beer festival thing down. They talk about the perks and challenges of this type of event. In our second segment we are joined by three of the four managers of Suds and Snow, our very own podcast producer, Mike Moran, Troy Daily, and Jeremy Smith. These three along with John Stocki are in their first year of managing and operating Suds and Snow. We talk about the changes to this year's event from live music and the number of breweries to logisitics and what it takes to make Suds and Snow the ultimate "Party in the Woods."     On this episode of the Short's Cast Bridgett and Gillian sit down with Head Pub Brewer Ryan Hale, and Head Beer Liberator, Jon Wojtowicz aka "Woj".     Short's goes on location to Einstein Cycles in Traverse City to announce the Short's Brewing Fat Bike Series. Four races located at two great resorts in Northern Michigan. Timber Ridge will host three of the four races, and the fourth will take place at Crystal Mountain.  This roundtable includes Cody and Jason of Einstein Cycles, along with two of our biggest fat bike enthusiats Matt Drake, and Brian Beckwith.
