The Gaea Star Band presents Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #345, another hour of visionary acoustic improvisation and songs by Mariam Massaro, recorded live at Singing Brook Studio on Worthington, Massachusetts in March 2019. Featuring Mariam on vocals, native flute, ukulele and acoustic guitar, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and native drums, the Gaea Star Band begin with the half-hour multi-movement song cycle “Just A Lovely Flow” which flows from mystical native grooves to lush piano-led jazz to spirited gypsy jump and finally to an unusual, mesmeric climax built on an unsettled, haunting cycle of chords from the piano. Mariam picks up her acoustic guitar for the folky, minor ballad “Returning To Balance” and finally today we reprise Mariam’s “Full Moon Parts One And Two”, a silvery, reverential moon waltz that evokes the night sky in gorgeous detail.
