Paul lists four things that will build the Body of Christ, They are revelation, knowledge, prophecy and teaching.

Speaking in tongues in the church is not as effective as prophecy unless it is interpreted. The gifts are to be used to build up the church.

We should greatly desire to prophesy because it edifies , exhort and consoles the assembly. Tongues are use to edify oneself.

We should pursue love or have a passion for love. We should greatly desire the spiritual gifts.

Faith, hope and love will be in heaven. These are attributes of God. Love will be the greatest most bountiful of the three.

Paul use a illustration of a child and grown man to show us what will happen after Jesus comes. We will see Him face to face, we will know fully and will be fully known.

What is the perfect that is coming? It is Jesus. Nothing else fits in the context of scripture.

Love will never come to an end. Prophecy, tongues and knowledge will all come to an end.

Love covers sin. Love trusts in each other. Love expects the good out of people. Love never gives up.

Love is not happy when people sin. Loves is happy when they walk in truth.

Love is not angry. Love is not resentful.

Love is not rude. Loves does not look out for one self.

Love is not self centered. The three things mentioned here are all signs of being self centered.

A definition of love. It is patient, it does not give up. Love is kind, it gives unconditionally..

If I give but do not do it in love I will receive no profit.

If I prophecy, speak mysteries and know and have great faith without love I am not the most important person in the church.

If I speak with tongues and do not have love all I am doing is making noise.

We are not all the same. We are different yet an important part of the Body of Christ. Then what are the greater gifts?

The office of various languages. This is a office not a gift. These are people who have a divine ability to speak other languages.

The office of administration is a office given to people by the God. This offices is those who have the gift of guidance in the body of Christ. They know how to get from one place to another.
