Rejoice means to have an inner joy or comfort. Paul tells the Philippians to rejoice. He than begins to warn them about 3 types of people.

Paul sends Epaphroditus to Philippi to deliver the message but also to report back to him. Honor is holding great men and women like Epaphroditus in high regard.

Paul continues to talk about Epaphroditus. Paul was spared double sorrow because God healed him. Paul had sorrow in his life.

Epaphroditus, who is he and what were is qualification to be a messenger and minster.

Paul wants to see how things are going for him before he sends this letter. Paul has his trust in the Lord and not in the Roman empire.

The number one hindrance to reaching people and revival is selfishness. We must have proven character and the proving comes by serving.

In order to qualify for any type of ministry you need to have a concern for the people you will minister to.

Being a sacrifice for the faith of others, Paul encourages the Philippians to join him in rejoicing and sharing that joy.

Hold out the word of life. So that the labor of those who lead you will not be in vain.

Do the will of the Lord without complaining or debating Him. This will prove to this wicked world that you are a child of God.

Work out your salvation by being obedient to the Lord Jesus Christ. That is God's will and His pleasure. His pleasure is seeing us walk in salvation.

Every person will someday agree that Jesus Christ is Lord. You can do it today and receive His salvation or do it later and receive His sentence.

Every person will someday bow a knee to the name of Jesus. You can either come under His lordship now as a son or under His lordship then. It will happen!

Jesus looked like a man. He felt what mankind feels. He was tempted like a man. He humble Himself to a place of obedience. Humility is the first step to obedience.

Jesus emptied Himself of His god-likeness so that He could be a bond-servant and be like mankind.

We need the same attitude that Jesus had. His attitude was even though He was 100% God he gave it up for us.

It is good to have self interests, that is how God created us. We also need to interested in others and what they are doing.

Our motives cannot be selfish and conceited. We need to put others before ourselves. This is humility of mind.

There are four things that will fill Paul's joy. They are being of the same mind, united in spirit, maintaining the same love, intent on one purpose.
